It's time for another edition of Expensive and Awesome Stuff That You'll Never Be Able to Do! Over at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2010, Polyphony Digital showed off a "GPS-track day unit," which is a little box with a card slot in it that you install in a very expensive car like, say, the Toyota FT-86G Concept, as seen above in the new trailer for Gran Turismo 5. That unit will then record your likely very expensive real-life run around a driving track like the famous Nürburgring lap, at which point you'll be able to pull a card out, plug it in your PS3, and then see the real-life run simulated inside the video game itself, where you can watch or even ghost race against it. It was also mentioned at the Auto Salon that there will be a 3D version of GT5 out "as soon as 3D TVs become available on the market," so presumably later this year. Thanks for watching! Next time on Expensive and Awesome Stuff That You'll Never Be Able to Do: land your very own helicopter on your very own superyacht. [Thanks, Steliosco!]

Uber Entertainment has announced a brand-spankin' new Xbox Live Arcade title by the name of Monday Night Combat. Just what is Monday Night Combat, you ask? Paraphrasing our own JC Fletcher, it looks a bit like Team Fortress 2 ... if Team Fortress 2 were a game show. Presented as a game show and "sport of the future," Monday Night Combat is a class-based third-person shooter, in which teams compete for "the real American dream: cash, fame and endorsements." The game sports six different character classes, a create-a-class feature and two gameplay modes, the co-operative Blitz mode and the competitive Crossfire mode. This one really came out of nowhere, but if it's anywhere near as good as the trailer makes it out to be, we could be in for a real treat. Expect it to arrive later this year.

WiiWare's been pretty good lately, but it's really lacking in ... musclebound, Speedoed dudes busting through walls. Have you noticed that? Thankfully, Namco Bandai noticed that as well, and is stepping in to help out, having announced that its WiiWare game Muscle March will be available on WiiWare next Monday, January 18. The best part? The publisher dropped the price by 300 Wii Points in the move from Japan to America, meaning we'll be able to download it for just 500 points! That's definitely in impulse-buy territory, which is where it belongs. Too bad Nintendo's point purchase system isn't really friendly to impulse buys. But hey, if you've still got 500 points on your Wii, you're all set! When we encoded the new trailer Namco sent along with the announcement, it somehow ended up both upside down and backwards. We figure it's not going to make much less sense this way than it would in the correct orientation. If you want, you can see it right side up after the break.

If you're planning on taking a flight into (or out of) South Korea and are hard-pressed for something to do during the flight, Jin Air, a subsidiary of Korean Air, is offering patrons the option to rent a 16GB PSP Go for a reasonable 4,000 won ($3.50), Siliconera reports. It apparently comes pre-loaded with games, none of which are specifically mentioned in the press release. That's a good way to get somebody to pay for something! Anyway, we're just glad somebody's supporting the PSP Go, because it's not like Sony is. [Thanks, John]

Rockstar has been under some fire lately for alleged poor working conditions. One former employee described the company as the Eye of Sauron from the Lord of the Rings books. While Rockstar hasn’t released any official statements on the matter, they just added this wallpaper to their site.
