We guess the "X" stands for "it's on the Xbox 360," because there wasn't a single can of Mountain Dew or a dirt-biking bear to be seen in Bible Navigator X. Instead, there's lots of text, and some stuff about God and his homeboys. There is some neat functionality, though -- the searching was easy enough and navigating the Bible was a fairly painless experience here. Ultimately, we failed to find any reason why somebody would go this route over just buying a regular Bible. Besides, statistically speaking, you probably already have one in your home, even if you don't exactly know where it is right now. Also: Who was the person who came up with these themes? If there's anything that's going to teach the kids to respect the bible, it's a version with virtual stains all over it, amirite? Bonus! The first person to leave a comment on this post will get a free Bible Navigator X code. Keep an eye on your inbox! Official rules apply.

There you go, the proof is in the pudding…or paperwork in this case. Now that Gamers4Croydon is actually in the race, let’s see if they can make an impact.

A portion of an NWR review… Overall, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is a serviceable Wii fighter that provides fun for those seeking a simpler fighting game. It is polished enough to please most Kamen Rider fans, even if it is only over the course of a rental.

A portion of an NWR interview with Legendo’s Dan Muir… NWR: You mention that Red Sun Rising is part of a trilogy. Games are sometimes announced as a trilogy to set expectations for the story’s scope; in this case, does it have more to do with WiiWare storage limits? DM: It’s a bit of both really. The [...]

In light of the terrible events in Haiti, SOTA Toys has decided to auction a ONE-OFF “Lightning Blanka” prototype on eBay, with profits donated to the relief effort. Modern Warfare keeps climbing the charts at a slow and steady pace, while House of the Dead: Overkill stumbles a tiny bit, but manages to hang tight. I think the achievement by House of the Dead: Overkill is quite a fantastic one, considering how close it is on the charts to Modern Warfare, yet [...]

Oh my, Star Fox: Assault…what a stinker of a game. It’s not anywhere near being one of the worst games of all-time, but it’s certainly not a high point for the StarFox franchise. I really love Fox and his friends, but I don’t know why Nintendo continuously thinks that we want to control [...]

Nintendo is going to kick off a budget line of Wii games in a big way. Well, that’s what they’re doing in Japan, anyway. The lineup will be called the ‘Everyone’s Recommendation Selection (Minna no Osusume Selection)’, with 75 games already qualifying for the branding. Titles included on the list have to [...]

You probably got that idea already, considering nothing but the sound of crickets and tumbleweeds have emerged from Criterion HQ since the release of the last bit of Burnout Paradise DLC, Big Surf Island. A tweet from the company account confirms our fears, stating there will be "no more" DLC and that the company "did WAY more than everyone else." That's all well and good, but it doesn't slake our need for more amazing DLC! So there you have it. The world is a colder and darker place today. If you need us, we'll be Freeburning our troubles away online, pining for what could have been.

Speaking with a handful of indie WiiWare game devs, GamesIndustry.biz (warning: login required) uncovered the not-so-startling truth behind Nintendo's support for third party devs on its digital distribution platform: there is none. "We feel that Nintendo is not doing enough to promote the service at all," said JV Games VP Jag Jaeger of the publisher's support. Jaeger added that it's not just a question of underpromotion, it's also a measure of not having access to the same tools that The Big N does. "Help create a more even playing field by allowing developers to use Nintendo resources ... even a more fair use of the Nintendo Channel would help -- Pokémon will be advertised for months while third party titles get a week usually." He also argued the subject of localization/marketing support in foreign markets and Nintendo's general "fend for yourself" attitude towards WiiWare development. "Nintendo, in my opinion, could do more to keep the WiiWare and DSiWare stores in customer's minds," agreed Nnooo's CEO and creative director Nic Watt. We've asked Nintendo for a response to the various allegations and will update this post if we hear more. Source - Developers call on Nintendo for more WiiWare support (requires login)

Hayden Panettiere desperately trying to get off her show. Surely, you deserve some award for sitting through a season, nay, an episode, of Heroes. Torne, a new DVR service for Japanese PS3s, may do just that. A new report in Famitsu (via 1UP) suggests that Torne will offer viewers Trophies. "It's compatible with the PS3 trophy system, and you can get trophies for things like watching final episodes from a lot of TV series, for example," SCE's Kiyoto Shibuya told the magazine. Being able to unlock Trophies should make the Sony's DVR offering a "uniquely PlayStation product." We've already brainstormed a few possible Trophy selections. How about a Gold "Otaku" Trophy for watching all 366 (and counting) episodes of Naruto? Here's an idea that could save network TV: a Bronze Trophy every time you refuse to hit fast-forward through the commercials?

Let's get this straight: There are rumors about video games, and then there are crazy internet rumors about video games that are so intriguing you can't help but get excited about them, even though you don't believe they're anything more than products of an overactive fan imagination. This post is about the second kind. Information has bubbled up from the Japanese 2chan message board about the new Wii Zelda game and, while 2chan's record on rumors hasn't been bad (they've broken information on Japanese anime, Resident Evil and other games that later turned out to be true), these rumors are crazy. Like Majora's Mask crazy. See what we mean after the break.

Heavy Rain has you taking control of a number of playable characters. However, the game will only put you in the shoes of the heroes tracking down the elusive "Origami Killer." In an interview with French site gameblog.fr, game director David Cage revealed that players will be able to play as the villain in an upcoming DLC episode of the Heavy Rain Chronicles. Other episodes of the Heavy Rain Chronicles will serve as prequels to the main game. For example, the already-revealed taxidermist scene will explain why Madison Paige is an insomniac. Additional episodes will focus on the other characters in the game, with another revealing how Norman Jayden became addicted to drugs. The taxidermist episode will be about an hour long, and it's likely all future episodes will be as well. Cage didn't go into details on when the episodes will be delivered or how they will be priced. Depending on the success of these episodes, Quantic Dream may want to pursue even more prequel stories, considering a sequel simply doesn't seem likely. [Thanks Elena P.!]

This Thursday at 12:30am ET, the new season of GameTrailers TV is set to debut with a look at Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Specifically, the trailer for this week's episode promises that the show will display the first footage of the game's single-player campaign (we've seen multiplayer already, after all). Beyond the Bad Company 2 footage, GTTV will also have a clip from the upcoming Halo Legends anime collection. This might be a stretch, but we're guessing there will be Spartans in it. As always, expect any juicy details to wind up here on Joystiq once the episode airs.
