Wow…we need to get these in the states! I’m going to keep an eye on import retailers for these babies. Right now they’re in the prototype phase, which would explain the lack of paint on them. The only bad part is, they aren’t due to hit Japan until May!

Tecmo Koei announced delays of two of its titles in Japan today. The female-focused shooter, Quantum Theory, has been moved out of its March 25 date to a troubling "TBA" date in the interest of improving quality. Tecmo Koei Europe confirmed that the delay affects the European release date, and it's likely to bump the North American date as well -- after all, if the game is still being worked on in March, we don't expect it to be released. [Update: Tecmo has confirmed the North American delay to Joystiq.] The Koei side also delayed a title: Omega Force's RPG Trinity: Zill O'll Zero, which is to be released outside of Japan as Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll. Its new release date is also "TBA." [Via Andriasang] Source: Quantum site Source: Zill O'll site

Square Enix's angriest game ever, Nier, recently received a firm Japanese release date: Both iterations of the game (Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant) will be landing on Japan's store shelves on April 22. Considering the current U.S. release window of Spring 2010, we wouldn't be surprised if we got our hands on the game soon after. However, we've been wrong before! Like that time we saw Nier at E3 last year, and were all like "man, there's no way they're actually going to finish and release this."

Sony is releasing a new limited edition PSP bundle in Japan created in collaboration with fashion brand Jill Stuart, which we had totally heard of before and didn't have to look up just now for this post. The Jill Stuart Sweet Limited Package includes the new Spring Blossom Pink PSP, a 4GB Memory Stick, and a cleaning cloth and carrying case (or "Limited Porch" as the website names it) by Jill Stuart. It will be released in Japan March 4 for ¥21,000 ($232). Attentive readers may notice that, like the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker limited edition, this limited edition contains a PSP 3000 and not the newer PSP Go. In the same press release, Sony announced "Value Packs" for the PSP-3000, also containing 4GB Memory Sticks, cleaning cloths, and pouches, without the Jill Stuart Styling, for ¥19,800 ($219). Piano Black, Spring Blossom Pink, and Vibrant Blue systems will be available in that bundle.

THQ's UFC 2009 Undisputed is kicking its retail price in the face and dropping it to $30. With a sequel right around the corner, the acclaimed fighter has sold 3.5 million units worldwide. The new price places the game under the "Platinum Hits" and "Greatest Hits" labels on Xbox 360 and PS3, respectively. UFC 2009 Undisputed is the game we typically -- and unfortunately -- neglect to mention when discussing THQ's financial and quality turnaround of 2009. Now we'll need to see if the UFC Undisputed series can muster the fan commitment required for an annual franchise.

The problem with those hollow boxes littering the cubicles at your workplace is there isn't enough juice, enough substance, within to actually run any kind of program outside of Excel, Outlook or--when you're really bored--MS Paint. So if you're at work and don't really feel like working, you're forced to either scour the web for stuff or watch a neat screensaver. Then, there was hope: Civilization Network for Facebook. However, it looks like Civilization Network is still a ways off. Variety reports that the beta for the new Facebook game won't actually start up until around June. This will likely come as a big let-down to fans, as the initial announcement back in October mentioned a hunt for beta testers would be underway "soon." We guess "soon" means "maybe in a few months or something."

Well, we know one up-and-coming reporter who's well on her way to Pulitzer City. Posted just after the jump is one of the most hard-hitting news reports on the dangers of online gaming we've seen in years. Oh, sorry -- did we say "hard-hitting?" We meant "sensationalized, irrational, unresearched, and absolutely hilarious." We get those two phrases mixed up with surprising frequency. If we were only allowed to give you one piece of advice in our lifetime, it would be that you should watch the video posted after the jump. If we could give you two pieces of advice, they would be to watch the video, and never, ever let a reporter into your house. For any reason. Ever. Ever. [Via Kotaku]

Tecmo announced via Twitter that Fret Nice, the musical platformer played with guitar controllers, will be available on PSN in North America this week. In its own tweet, developer Pieces Interactive said that a European release date would be "coming soon." Now PS3 owners will be able to use those guitar controllers of theirs to do something other than play along to "Uncontrollable Urge" over and over again (what, you mean you don't do that?) Specifically, in Fret Nice, players take control of the Vibrant Chordblasters as they travel through the world defeating Hair Bängers with their riffs. Oddly missing from both of these announcements is any mention of the Xbox 360 version. We're checking with Tecmo about that.
