Creat Studios, one of the few proud and brave developers supporting Sony's PSP Minis service, recently announced in a PlayStation Blog post that it had three titles in the works for Europe: Alien Havoc; Freekscape and Bubble Trubble. Alien Havoc is already available here in the States, but a recent ESRB listing suggests that Freekscape is also on its way.

The ESRB site describes Freekscape as "a platformer game in which players run around a "cartoony" version of the underworld ("Hell") as a small demon creature, essentially a "good" devil." You can check out a two-minute video sample of Freekscape's blend of puzzle-platforming after the break.

With Heavy Rain, developer Quantic Dream set out to create what it calls an "interactive drama." The result is as entertaining as any good Hollywood thriller, but far more engrossing -- and thought provoking -- than one could ever hope to be.

It's the interweaving story of four very different characters (and a modestly-sized supporting cast) who all find themselves involved in one way or another with the case of the Origami Killer, a serial kidnapper and murderer of young boys. The story draws on elements of film noir and science fiction, movies like Se7en, Saw and The Big Sleep, to create a compelling mystery -- a book you can't put down, if you will.

The real magic of Heavy Rain -- a title which not only sounds cool, but is central to the plot -- is how it draws upon you, as the player, and your ability to make some very difficult decisions befitting of the game's tag line, "How far are you prepared to go to save someone you love?"

We recently got a chance to speak with Zipper Interactive's Alan Van Slyke, who produced the company's recently released multi-multi-multiplayer FPS, MAG. When asked about ongoing support for the title, Van Slyke responded that the developer won't let the game go stale -- in fact, he explained that Zipper sees MAG as a platform on which new content can be added in the future.

Van Slyke explained, "we made a big investment, we had a lot of learning, we built a lot of tech, and we have this awesome multiplayer platform that we can build upon and add new gametypes to." He later added, "the possibilities are endless for us, and in many ways, even though we just released the game, looking forward for us is super exciting, knowing what we can do with the engine we have today."

The producer also addressed concerns many players have had with balancing issues -- particularly that the ragtag S.V.E.R. faction is far too overpowered. "It's something we're definitely aware of, and we've already got a number of fixes in the pipe. We're definitely committed to making sure all the maps, factions and gear is perfectly balanced." For more information on MAG's past, present and future, check out our full interview with Van Slyke when it goes live tomorrow afternoon.

Mispronounced as: “Fax anna dew” Should be: “Fah zanna dew” I admit it…back in the day I used to say this incorrectly. Give me a break, I wasn’t even into the double-digit age range yet! I call it by the right name now, I swear!

The first new Pokémon being added to the next game has been revealed. The silhouette belongs to Zoroark, a new Dark-type Pokémon described as a "Monster Fox Pokémon." It evolves from the smaller and cuter, but evil, Zoroa. Scans from the latest issue of Corocoro Comic magazine show the critters in non-silhouetted form for the first time, eliciting many sighs of relief as it Zoroark is revealed not to be a werehog.

Not only will these two be featured in the new DS game (about which almost nothing else is known), Zoroark is the title character in the latest movie, Phantom Champion Zoroark.

All WiiWare demos were removed from the Wii Shop Channel on January 31. Nintendo of America has confirmed with Joystiq that the WiiWare demo "experiment," which offered a set of five free downloadable demos through the Wii Shop Channel, officially ended on that date. When asked for an explanation, a Nintendo representative told Joystiq, "From the start, the demo program was always planned to be available for a limited time on a trial basis."

While the demo program was expressly announced as a limited-time deal in Japan, no mention of any cutoff date was made in the original announcement for North America.

So, will we ever get to try before we buy again? "We're looking at our results and deciding our next steps," the Nintendo rep told us. Those results, according to a November analysis of WiiWare demos by Nintendo Life, look promising.

Plans to disconnect Xbox Live services for original Xbox games have apparently already begun, as DLC servers for Xbox titles have been quietly take offline. According to numerous forum threads and our own tests of an assortment of Xbox titles, attempts to download original Xbox content are now fruitless. Each title tested yielded the message: "Could not download content list. Please try again later." (The image above was taken from our test of Halo 2.)

Last Friday, Microsoft announced online support for original Xbox titles would be discontinued on April 15, but made no mention of disconnecting DLC servers earlier than that. Some forum users claim that the DLC servers for Xbox titles were taken offline as soon as the announcement was made last week. So, if you've continued to put off your infiltration of the Kola Cell in the original Splinter Cell, you'd better have already downloaded the mission.

[Thanks, Bren]
