It was bound to happen one day: A pre-release demo has been patched. PS3 owners experienced some matchmaking issues with the initial release of the Aliens vs. Predator trial. Now developer Rebellion has not only fixed the bugs, but has added a few new features to the multiplayer demo, including the ability to create and search for specific matches.

Players that have the old demo installed on their hard drives will find it no longer works. An "Incompatible Version" error will appear for those attempting to play it. Instead, players are advised to go back into the PlayStation Store to re-download an updated demo. Yes, it's another 800MB-ish download, but if you want an early taste of Aliens vs. Predator, this will have to suffice.

Honestly, we're not sure how anyone could come up with the idea of a pirahna plant keepsake box. A keepsake box, ideally, is designed to keep your precious items in a safe place so you'll always know where they are. Pirahna plants, on the other hand, are about as far away from safe as you can get. They're man-eating plants, some varieties of which can breathe fire. Still, despite all that, this keepsake box -- designed by Etsy user lostmitten -- still manages to be kind of cute. As of this writing, there is a single one available for purchase at $60.

We suppose you could pick it up and store your old high school love notes in there. Just watch your fingers when you open it up.

If you thought the jam-packed Xbox lineup on display at the X10 event was exciting for you, imagine being one of the people in charge of it. Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg got to watch reactions to the lineup at the event all day -- except, of course, for the time he took out to speak to us about the crowded game schedule, Project Natal, and more.

Greenberg remained genial even when faced with familiar questions about the ramifications of the removal of Xbox 1 Live support, and with random, odd questions generated from Joystiq's interview brainstorming session, such as:

Joystiq: Can you make Kudo in Kodu?

Aaron Greenberg: What?

I don't know. Don't worry about it.

Does not compute.

As if Obsidian didn't already have enough on its plate, with Alpha Protocol somewhere doing something and Fallout: New Vegas nuking this fall, the company is now in a "services agreement" to assist Red Eagle Games with The Wheel of Time titles. Red Eagle Games COO Larry Mondragon states that although his company is the producer and publisher, it "could benefit from supplementing small in-house technical and creative teams with a proven third party developer." The "first-generation of [the] Wheel of Time games" will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

The last we'd heard about these Wheel of Time games was the distribution agreement hammered out with EA back in January 2009, a few months before that, the games were announced by the newly founded LA studio. If the fantasy nerds out there will pardon our mixed reference, the Eye of Sauron is watching this one.

Fragile Dreams is sneaking into stores sometime this March, among a pile of enormous games. If you choose to pick up the XSEED-published adventure game, you can get a nice bonus with your pre-ordered copy, in the form of a CD soundtrack. The offer is exclusive to GameStop. In addition, XSEED announced in its latest press release that the North American version of the game will include a new "Extras" option that allows players to replay cutscenes, view concept art, and watch Japanese trailers.

Infinity Ward has released its latest salvo of updates for Modern Warfare 2, dropping a predator missile on the dreaded "infinite care package" glitch and those awful, awful shotguns from 1887 (again). And all those matches you found you were getting negative XP? Yeah, that's a thing of the past.

If you want to read up on the patch notes, head on over here.

Sarbakan Studios has announced that it's bringing a new title to Xbox Live Arcade. Entitled Lazy Raiders, it tasks players with plundering ancient ruins. The game offers something of a literal twist, however, as players don't actually control the main character, but instead turn the entire game world as he falls through the environment. Doing so, you help the explorer gather items and avoid various traps and hazards. If that sounds confusing, watch the video above for a more visual explanation.

The game is set to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade on February 24, according to the developer's press release, and features 80 levels and playable Avatar support. The title, incidentally, is derived from the main character being too lazy to walk through the levels, hence simply rotating them instead. That said, we'd like to point out that the extreme level of engineering it would cost to safely and effectively rotate ancient ruins is anything but lazy.

I've never played a game quite like tri-Crescendo's Fragile Dreams for Wii. While, mechanically, it's a fairly standard action-adventure game - something like one of the PS2 Silent Hills with experience points - everything about the game contributes to a distinctive mood. Fragile Dreams is an exploration of quiet -- something few games ever have any room for.

Sure, you were impressed by that God of War III game that Sony showed off last night. But, that wasn't the only PlayStation exclusive to feature on GameTrailers TV. Sony also showed off MLB 10 The Show and it features a lot of ... baseball. We understand that it's an excellent franchise, but it's getting increasingly difficult to find the words to write about this game. (Perhaps you can help us out and leave a few words in the comments section. We'll take good care of them, we swear!)

MLB 10 will be available on PS3, PSP and yes, even PS2 on March 2nd.

According to gaming news site Strategy Informer, Microsoft finally dismissed the possibility of a PC port for Remedy's upcoming episodic thriller, Alan Wake. An unnamed Microsoft representative reportedly told Informer, "some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realized that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive."

We've contacted Microsoft to get our own first-hand confirmation of the report. We'll also try to find out why Alan Wake is so afraid of being "intimate." It's like ... just let us in, man.
