Quick, stop reading this post and head on over to Battle.net to grab the PC beta client for StarCraft 2! (It appears the Mac client is not available yet). Of course, you must have previously volunteered for the beta at Blizzard's site, so if this sentence is news to you, then ... sorry. You're what scientists call out of luck.

The client weighs in at 1.64GB and will take a while to download, so have a crossword handy. See you out there!

This latest Red Steel 2 trailer proves one thing: life is tough in the west. Sure, we've played enough Oregon Trail to know all about the dysentery that plagued the settlers of our old west, but did you know, even in alternate universes, the west is just as wild? Let's not discount the hardships a katana-wielding cowboy must face, folks. It really makes you reflect on what's important in life -- looking all badass.

The list of game server shutdowns back in January was pretty extensive in its own right, but EA's not done retiring more of its legacy titles. Over at EA.com, the full list of server shutdowns details the next wave of house cleaning, starting on April 15 with Burnout 3: Takedown for PS2 and Army of Two for PS3 (in Asia only). Then, on March 15, additional titles will no longer support online functionality, including Def Jam for PS3 and Xbox 360, Mercenaries 2 for PC and Lord of the Rings: Conquest for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

For the full list of games going offline and when, head on past the break.

Just because a game exclusively features powerful British accents doesn't mean said game can't be released outside of Europe. The episodic PSN mystery series Blue Toad Murder Files will make its way to North America on March 25. Episodes One, Two and Three can be purchased as a single bundle for $14.99, or separately for $7.49 apiece.

If you've got a hankering for some Layton-esque brainteasers wrapped in an overarching, cartoonish story, Blue Toad will probably scratch that itch. If you just want to hear a manly-voiced gentleman bellow the word "maaaahdaaaaahhh" over and over again, it should satisfy that desire too.

This game really is a perfect example of the ‘Nintendo difference’, because it’s so radically different than any F-Zero title Nintendo put out! Sure, all the series staples are there, but through a pairing with SEGA, we got a fresh, new take on design and speed. As I’ve said many times over, I [...]

Konami, which picked up the publishing rights for the Xbox 360-exclusive N3II: Ninety-Nine Nights in Japan, has announced that it'll also publish the feelplus-developed sequel in North America. In fact, the North American release is slated for the same spring 2010 window as the Japanese version. N3II features five different storylines telling the three sides -- humans, elves and goblins -- of a "free for all" battle. Prepare your thumbs, because that sounds like a lot of button-mashing!

But you know, if all those storylines can maintain the kind of epic narration featured in this new trailer, N3II is guaranteed to be a multi-million seller. Wouldn't you agree?

Big John Games has announced a new 2D puzzler coming to WiiWare: Mouse House; a single-screen maze game in which an adorably spheroid mouse navigates mazes full of obstacles and other mice in order to feast on delicious cheese. Though the presentation is totally "Flash game," the gameplay reminds us of Adventures of Lolo, Kickle Cubicle and other character-based NES puzzle games. (Not that we're suggesting Mouse House is that caliber of game.)

We'll find out soon enough how good it is. Mouse House's release is set for Monday, February 22.
