the other, other M is for media, which you can click here to seeNintendo released a flood of information about Metroid: Other M today, not the least of which is when it's coming out. The Media Summit press release describes a game that takes place primarily in a side-scrolling perspective, using a sideways Wii Remote, but gives the player the ability to switch to first person at any time and control the game with the pointer. So it's an odd hybrid of old Metroid and Prime.

As these screens reveal, it's also very nice-looking. Other M will be in stores June 27.

When we last saw Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (formerly Sin & Punishment 2) in action, it was little more than an impressive video of an expert player charging through the game's first stage. Today, alongside the renaming and release date announcement, Nintendo unveiled the latest trailer for Treasure's insane shooter, as well as a whole mess of new screens.

As you might expect, Treasure once again delivers with its signature brand of brazenly Japanese game design stereotypes, mashed with pounding music and quick video cuts. Check out the whole thing above, and don't feel too bad if you watch it a few times (we did too). It's gonna be a long wait until June, folks.

Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for Super Mario Galaxy 2, showing the exploits of the portly plumber and ... okay, look. We can't do this anymore. The dude's obviously not just a plumber these days. Try astronaut. Try dinosaur wrangler. Try planetoid driller. And just try not to get excited for the game's launch on May 23rd.

Click image to take a tour of the new Steam
Valve's working to keep its over 25 million Steam subscribers happy and the community growing by unveiling an updated interface, currently in beta. Any Steam user can opt in to the beta right now. It's a quick and painless installation that, once completed, brings a bevy of new features such as accessible lists of what games your friends have downloaded (along with their personal stats for each title) and some new ways for you to sort and organize game libraries. There's also cross-game achievement tracking and other smaller organizational options.

The interface is cleaner now and there's more information at your fingertips than before -- a well-informed buyer is a better buyer, no? You can also say goodbye to Internet Explorer rendering, which has been swapped out in favor of WebKit. If that alone isn't worth celebrating, we don't know what is.

Daddy like. I’m daddy. Check out the site here. Thanks Samus! The piano tune is lovely and even though it doesn’t fit with what we may feel is traditional Metroid sounds, I’m digging this new direction already!

The Fervor Shine countdown has ended, and, as surmised, Ska Studios has announced a sequel to The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai. Entitled The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, the game features everyone's favorite table-busing warrior once. Ska released a trailer and screens for the title, confirming the accuracy of the images that were leaked last year -- including the giant scissors. Today's announcement reveals additional weapons, including a humongous syringe called the Painkiller and the Violence Hammer, "whose business end consists of a section of girder wrapped in barbed wire and random hardware."

Vampire Smile is running on a new engine and contains a single-player campaign, a co-op campaign, 50 challenge levels, and an endless challenge mode. The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile will be available "when it's done." If you can't wait that long, it will also be playable at the PAX East convention, along with Ska's upcoming Xbox Live Indie Game, Charlie Murder.

A portion of Wingdamage’s review: In the end, The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, while not a terrible game, is rather mediocre and largely forgettable. It's a Monster Hunter Tri information explosion, as Nintendo and Capcom reveal new information on the North American release of this eagerly anticipated title, including the release date, exclusive...

American DS owners have been waiting patiently for Dragon Quest IX, as the game racks up crazy sales in Japan and weekly DLC is released from Square Enix. Well ... we're going to have to keep waiting. While Nintendo didn't announce a date for the RPG at the Nintendo Media Summit today, the company announced that it will not only co-market Dragon Age IX, it will publish it in North America. This is the first official confirmation of a localized release.

Square Enix previously said that it would consider localizing DQIX in its next fiscal year (beginning in April). Our best guess it to expect Dragon Age IX later this year.
