Can you believe that we’ve had the Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation for 50 years now!? For most of us, we would call that the laser! Where would video games be without lasers? Well, we wouldn’t have such wonderful memories like these!

We didn't know what to expect when Nintendo of America showed up to the Joystiq offices with a brown paper bag. On the bag was a "guest check" featuring one Nintendo DSi XL and one "XL sandwich." When we opened the bag we only found Nintendo's new hardware.

So where was our sandwich? And how big could an XL sandwich be? Two men carrying two ten foot subs walked up the stairs and plopped it in front of us. Looks like Joystiq's current NYC representatives -- Andrew and Ludwig -- will have a pretty significant lunch to eat today.

Today, a recent post on Daily Informer was brought to our attention, which reports that EA has decided to sue over a recent South Park episode, "Sexual Healing." The episode in question shows a mock-up of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, mixing in some ridiculous fighting elements (involving the wife he cheated on) into the golf sim portion of the game. It's really over-the-top, akin to the show's usual satire practices.

We contacted EA to get to the bottom of this, to which an EA spokesperson commented the rumored impending lawsuit is "nonsense." So, there you have it: EA is not suing over the episode. Nothing else to see here -- move along.

“Funding the development of a title of Winter’s scope is not in n-Space’s game plan right now. Also, recent mature releases on the Wii have shown us that it would be a challenge to succeed with it. We’ve considered taking Winter to other platforms. There was even a Winter DS level built here [...]

"Kasumi -- Stolen Memory," the next piece of premium Mass Effect 2 DLC launches next month. That's "premium" as in "you have to pay for it even if you have the Cerberus Network." So how much will you have to pay to cover Kasumi's theft? 560 for the Xbox 360 version, or 560 "BioWare Points" for the PC version, which comes to $7 in either case.

When the DLC was first announced, the release date was listed as April 6. Now it's "April in North America and Europe." We're checking with EA to confirm the exact date for, well, your date with Kasumi.

Media Molecule's latest exercise in LittleBigPlanet creativity -- a Contraption Challenge in which players had to build clever water-traversing vehicles -- has borne some pretty delicious fruits. The six finalists' creations can be seen in the video above, but first place (a title that comes with a copy of LittleBigPlanet PSP and a PSP Go) went to Asbestos101's "Crouching Boat, Hidden Car."

We can't wait to see what the next LBP challenge will require from its players -- perhaps an AI construct built from simple switches and levers that's capable of love?
