Hey Everyone – I’m here to remind you that this is the last week to get the limited echoshift Add-on Levels! For those of you who don’t have a copy of echoshift yet, but will be downloading it this week (before April 1, of course), we will give you seven additional levels that will be a free gift-with-purchase for $14.99! That’s over 60 levels filled with puzzles and challenges, plus three different modes of play for each level. echoshift’s innovative take on puzzles lets you cooperate with “echoes” of your past actions to maneuver around obstacles and find new paths. Check out the trailer to catch a glimpse of this unique gameplay:

For those of you who already purchased the game before March 18, don’t worry as you are also entitled to the Add-on Levels for free! Simply log into the PlayStation Store using the PSN ID that you purchased echoshift with, and you’ll see the DLC levels for you to download in the “View All” section of the echoshift page.

I’ll leave you with a new look at some of the extra levels. Act quickly to get these though, as both of these offers will disappear from the PSN on April 1.

The downloadable Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light isn't just an odd one-off from Crystal Dynamics, it's the first effort in a new strategy from the developer. General manager Darrell Gallagher told Gamasutra that Crystal Dynamics is using Guardian of Light, and future digitally-distributed titles, as a way to bridge larger-scale console installments.

Gallagher said that it's a plan that Crystal Dynamics intends to continue with -- and one that other publishers will also pick up. The use of a smaller, downloadable game as a promotional device or stopgap release for a console game has been catching on even before Guardian of Light was announced, mostly with Capcom, whose Dark Void Zero and Bionic Commando Rearmed were released to warmer receptions than either of their disc-based counterparts.

Gallagher told Gamasutra that because downloadable games have shorter development cycles, they can be used to bring people into a franchise or keep it popular while the next major installment is still in development.

Nintendo's online store is a great place to get a Game Boy Micro battery door or a copy of Wii Sports, and now you can get a Virtual Console game and a WiiWare game there too. That's right -- one each.

For some reason, Nintendo put Pokemon Rumble and Super Mario Bros. 3 up for download through its browser-based online store, for $15 and $5, respectively. Purchasing either will give you a download ticket that you can enter in the Wii Shop to download the game. But why? And why just two games? (Although that's one more game than is available from Amazon's Wii download section.) We're checking with Nintendo about the offering now, and will report back if we hear anything.

A recent countdown clock on BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2 websites fueled speculation by some that an announcement -- maybe even a big one -- about one or both (or neither) games was imminent. Now that the timer has expired, we know that it's actually something very different: An online auction of 412 various BioWare items (ranging from custom PCs to Jade Empire mousepads) that the developer has dubbed the "BioWare Bazaar."

Although the estimated value of the items up for auction tops $62,000, participants will actually bid on them using virtual tokens earned through "challenges" that can be entered by following @biofeed on Twitter. This feed will also provide specifics of the various auctions, which are set to begin at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, April 5 and run roughly every 15 minutes through 4:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, April 10. According to the fine print, the auction is open to residents of "the 50 United States and the District of Columbia with the exception of residents of Florida and New York." You also need to be 18 or older to participate.

A full list of items up for auction can be found here. Thoughts?
