As promised, PS3 firmware update 3.21 has gone live -- and no, it's not some kind of elaborate April Fool's joke crafted by Sony. Yes, the update removes Linux support from Phat PS3 systems. And yes, the update makes it explicitly clear that this update will remove a feature (and corresponding menu options) from your system.

This is a mandatory update, meaning you won't be able to log on to the PlayStation Network without it. So, might as well get it out of your way as soon as possible. You can use either System Update from the XMB, or download the update from PlayStation.com to a USB stick.

[Thanks to everyone that sent this in!]

Holy hell, it’s a preorder bonus for new costumes that actually includes the Wii and DS! I can’t believe a company finally decided to throw Nintendo fans a bone on this one. Is it really that hard to give us unlock codes in the first place!?

We've said it before and we'll say it again: we just don't get it. Somehow, Ubisoft's Just Dance has managed to become a full-fledged phenomenon -- we think two million worldwide sales means it's appropriate to call it that, right? Not only has Ubisoft received the honor that is boatloads of cash, but also the honor of having "the fastest-selling new intellectual property from a third-party publisher on Wii."

Perhaps the appropriate course of action isn't to try and dissect this, but to just close our eyes and go with it. Some of the songs aren't that bad, right? Or should we avoid sipping the Kool-Aid and quietly move to the side?

A portion of the PixlBit Review: Overall, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier is a fantastic and very enjoyable RPG. The humorous dialog is retained thanks to Atlus’ great localization. Though the graphically presentation is a little inconsistent, everything else about the game screams quality.

Being a giant, beloved video game blog has its downsides. For example, we sometimes neglect to give independent developers our coverage love (or loverage, if you will) as we get caught up in AAA, AAAA or the rare quintuple-A titles. To remedy that, we're giving indies the chance to create their own loverage and sell you, the fans, on their studios and products. This week we talk with Mana Bomb, two guys who didn't let their location keep them from pursuing their dream of being extravagantly rich game developers.

How did you or your company get started?

Dan Weatherman - Programmer: A group of friends were eating lunch one fateful day and between the fajitas and enchiladas we started brainstorming about a game we would like to play. By the time we were done, we had a good starting point for what turned out to be Colony Defense. I thought, "Hey, I can do that I bet" and Jason Boren (designer) said, "Well let's do this then!" Boom, Mana Bomb was born. Wow, we had NO clue how much work it would eventually take to get our game to the point it is today. It's probably a good thing too, as I don't think any of us just love a ton of extra work. But here we are and we're very proud of what we've been able to accomplish.

Jason Boren - Janitor: I just wanted to do it, create something ourselves that we've enjoyed from everyone else for so long. I literally told Dan I would do anything to make it work, including being the janitor for our company. Nothing against janitors, but they really have nothing to offer a game company starting out who doesn't even have an office.

According to a recent Walmart ad dug up by NeoGAF user ghostmind, a whole slew of new PS3 titles will soon be added to the $29.99 Greatest Hits collection. Featured on the ad are five games which will apparently get the red box treatment: LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition, Killzone 2, inFAMOUS, Resistance 2 and UFC 2009 Undisputed. Actually, according to the flyer, the games are being offered for $29.83. That, dear readers, is the Walmart difference.

We've contacted Sony America to find out if the Walmart ad is authentic, but we have no reason to believe it's a mock-up. We mean, all those games are "hits," and they're all pretty "great," right?

If you thought your excitement for NBA Jam couldn't get any higher after reading our preview, know that MTV Multiplayer has confirmed that classic ballers Larry Bird and Magic Johnson are in the game. Creative director Trey Smith said that the second-to-last team that players will face in the Classic Campaign mode -- the game's "worst-to-first ladder tournament," which pits players against a series of teams -- will be decided based on who wins the 2010 NBA championships. Then, the final match will feature the iconic duo.

There's no word on other possible unlockable characters, but, frankly, we're going to flip out if we don't get to play as Chow Chow or Bill Clinton. Get on it, EA!
