This week we dropped by Capcom HQ to test out multiplayer on the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2, as well as get some of your questions answered. There’s a video featuring exclusive footage and your answers below.

We also found out that Capcom is doing something pretty cool: if 1.5 million of you gamers download the upcoming multiplayer demo (available April 22nd), they’ll donate $25K to charity. Easy enough, right?

So why are we telling you this today, when the demo won’t be live for 3 weeks? Because Capcom is giving some gamers a headstart on that download (which means you may be able to start playing it now).

The PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction will arrive on April 27, two weeks after the Xbox 360 version. You might have assumed that the extra time was required to implement Ubisoft's over protective DRM, which requires a constant internet connection to play a game, but according to Ubisoft, that's not the case.

"The reason that has been given for the delay is that the extra time was need to polish and debug the game," a Ubisoft rep told Eurogamer. "The slip has not been linked to the DRM." While the DRM isn't the reason you'll be waiting to play the PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction for most of April, it could very well be the reason you won't be able to play the game once it's been released.

First of all, this is not an April Fool's joke. Remember how passionate the Joystiq team got about Torchlight last year? That's how I'm feeling about Snoopy Flying Ace. There are two reasons for this: 1) the gameplay is a direct descendant of Crimson Skies, right down to the customizable weapons on your planes, and 2) you get to shoot down Lucy Van Pelt. It's payback for all those years of her yanking the football away from Charlie Brown at the last second. Charles Schulz might be spinning in his grave over this game, but points one and two combine into joyous gameplay with the lovable Peanuts gang that you've grown up with.

Joystiq showed off the trailer for this almost two years ago, but now I've finally gotten my hands on the flight stick. Which also means I got to fly around as Snoopy in the seat of his faithful Sopwith Camel -- another childhood dream fulfilled. According to Clark Stacy from developer Smart Bomb Interactive, "It is, we maintain, the most detailed and realistic World War I simulation ever created; capturing every nuance of what it was like to be a dog flying a biplane over the skies of Europe in 1917. Consideration for the Nobel Prize for Literature has been bandied around the game with growing seriousness, and we are in talks concerning a possible film adaptation starring Uma Thurman as Snoopy." That's more of an adult dream, yet to be fulfilled.

Mega64's latest video (past the break) highlights some very real concerns about motion-based gaming, albeit in a very ham-fisted way. Gamers looking to veg out in front of the TV and blow some junk up really aren't the target demographic for motion-controlled games, but will likely get pressured into playing by their friends and family -- "motion enablers," if you will. Sure, crushing a calorie or two is good for the old body, but sweating and being out of breath sucks.

Out-of-shape, poor displays of humanity aside, not everyone is so put off by the idea of, like, moving around and junk. Which camp do you fall in with? Pumped for the next wave of motion gaming or are you already taking a nap on the couch?

Throw another gag on the April Fools' Day fire, Remedy has entered the fray. Up for offer is Alan Wake Wars, a game that takes the taut, suspenseful bent of Alan Wake and tosses on a layer of real-time strategy. The game contains 17 maps, 24 unit types and a staggering 18 tech trees. Lots of different units are showcased in the video, including local militia, trucks and, our favorite, deadly lumberjacks. Honestly, as "real time psychological film noir action love story" games go, Alan Wake Wars looks to be on top of the pack. Check out the trailer after the break.

Sure, you're probably excited to download the Lost Planet 2 demo so you can actually play the game, but did you know it will also help a good cause? Capcom has announced a new program that will see the company donate $20,000 to Music for Relief -- a non-profit organization "dedicated to providing aid to victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters" -- if one million players download the Lost Planet 2 demo. If a total of 1.5 million download the demo, Capcom will donate an additional $5,000 for a total of $25,000.

In addition, Capcom will be hosting a pre-launch Lost Planet 2 party and "celebrity" tournament on May 6 in Los Angeles. Gamers will be able to sign up to attend the event -- on a first come, first serve basis -- on Capcom-Unity later this month. To win a chance to play in the tournament, however, players will have to submit tips for playing the multiplayer demo. Four winners will be chosen by Capcom to attend the tournament. The winners of the tournament will get to choose which Music for Relief cause will receive the money Capcom. Full details on the contest can be found right here.

So, get crackin' and grab your early access demo redemption code. It just might do someone some good.
