Earth Day is quickly approaching, and it’s time for us to take a look at just how much our gaming habits harm the environment. We already know that Greenpeace thinks that Nintendo is pretty much the devil, constantly scoring the worst possible outcome on their various surveys. Let’s look beyond that, and see [...]

Though it was only released a few weeks ago, we've been skeptical about RealView's "depth enhancing" V-Screen for PSP since we first heard about it last summer. But now that I've had some time with it, well ... I still don't get it.

Watch the video for my first impressions, but here's the general takeaway: $50 is a hefty price tag for a cheap-feeling case and an unimpressive 3D-like screen effect.

Adding to last week's leaked footage of Sonic 4's Splash Hill Zone is a new clip (embedded after the break) from the downloadable game's Lost Labyrinth Zone. There's more to be seen at the source, but we singled out one clip in particular because it served as the best evidence that Sonic 4 really is drawing a lot of inspiration from the 16-bit era -- after all, how else would you explain a mine cart level? (In case you'd forgotten, they were outlawed by a U.N. resolution passed in 1998.)

So hey, if some random people on the internet can get their hands on Sonic 4, it shouldn't be too long before we can, too. Right?

[Thanks RPK!]

Hello everyone! I’d like to talk about our upcoming PSP game King of Pool that will be available on PSN this Thursday, April 8 for $9.99.

Well, King of Pool is one of the biggest collections of Pools and Snooker on PSP. We have worked really hard to implement the whole variety of rules that exist in the world, and we believe we’ve managed to do so.

The most popular pool type is Eight Ball. It is the kind of pool you would play with your friends in a real life. We have created numerous visual locations for you to choose from, ranging from traditional British pub to modern club that you would find in Tokyo.

Apart from Eight Ball, we have plenty of other modes for you guys to choose: Snooker, Nine Ball, Four Ball, One Cushion Billiard and other pool games. But the most intriguing part is yet to come. :)

In case the above mentioned modes are not enough, we’ve gone one step further and created a few original tables you wouldn’t find in a real life. Originally they were created by our lead artists just for fun, as a joke, but then we’ve noticed that a lot of people are actually enjoying playing them. So we decided to leave these tables as a feature, rather than an Easter egg.

And a few final words. King of Pool supports turn-based multiplayer on a single device, so you can play this game with your friend using a single PSP. When you feel like you want a short break from pool, you can take a shot at three little mini-games that come with this package as bonus.

We hope you’ll enjoy King of Pool. For more information on our games you can visit our website www.nordcurrent.com or our Facebook page on www.facebook.com/Nordcurrent.

Though the Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 leaderboards have all rocketed to unsurpassable heights since its release in summer 2008, Xbox Live Gold subscribers shouldn't be afraid of picking it up this week for the temporarily reduced price of 400 ($5). We mean, you should be afraid of its propensity for stealing your evenings away from you as you desperately attempt to unlock that pesky "Wax Off" Achievement. But hey, at least those attempts are pretty fun! (Or, at least, the first hundred are.)
