Opening Day is finally here! The 2010 MLB season debuted last night with Yanks and Sox taking center stage at Fenway, with Boston ultimately edging out New York, 9-7. For those of you who caught the game, the telecast featured multiple airings of our Joe Mauer/Kevin Butler commercial , as well as other in-game mentions — just another way to showcase MLB 10: The Show during big moments in baseball.

I’m also happy to report that The Show is still enjoying some great feedback from the media. Just recently SportsIllustrated.com and the Associated Press posted reviews that are worth checking out, and ESPN.com included the game in their Opening Day Gear Guide.

Simulating your favorite team with The Show is always a great way to get into the MLB spirit. To up the excitement level a bit more and to celebrate season openers all around the country, here’s a look at our MLB 10 The Show Opening Day trailer.

Welcome to The Show!

Filed under: Podcasts PAX East may be over, but that doesn't mean we aren't done talking about it. Perhaps you've heard that something awfully strange (and illegal) went down there. Yes, the Breach theft. We spend a hefty chunk of the show discussing that this week, along with plenty of news (Halo: Reach!) fan mail and Twitter questions and comments.

Once again, if you'd like to drop us some comments on Twitter, just post a tweet with the #x3f hashtag. Keep an eye on our own Twitter accounts (listed below) to see when we start recording episode 161 next Monday (around 11:30 ET).

Despite the somewhat amorphous "early April" release date we last heard from EA, the launch trailer for "Kasumi's Stolen Memory" - the $7 DLC chapter for Mass Effect 2 - embedded above solidifies the previously announced April 6 release date (hey, that's tomorrow!) for the content. Kasumi marks the twelfth and (presumably) final member of Commander Shepard's scrappy group of mercenaries, rounding out the character selection screen for those of you still waiting to play through BioWare's space opus. Us? Hey, we're just excited to get Ms. Shepard in a fancy dress for some good ol' fashioned infiltratin'.

In celebration of the 1-year anniversary of DSiWare's North American launch, Nintendo has pieced together this video, featuring highlights of the still fairly sparse lineup for the service. The majority of the video, however, is devoted to games that haven't been released yet, including X-Scape, Photo Dojo and Metal Torrent.

Many of these games were shown at the recent Nintendo Media Summit, which we assumed would be the first and last time we'd see them before release. We're quite taken aback by today's surprising promotion of upcoming DSiWare games!

With the release of Heavenly Sword, Ninja Theory had seemingly established itself as a high-profile, PS3-exclusive developer. However, the studio's next game, Enslaved, a gritty action version of the same classical Chinese story Journey to the West from which Dragon Ball originates, is going to be multiplatform.

"Heavenly Sword came out pretty early on the PS3," Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades explained to CVG, "and we sold, I think, a million and a half copies, and that's still not enough as an independent studio to break even. The publisher potentially breaks even at that point, but the developers don't. It's just that when so many people have Xbox -- I mean over half the market or more has Xbox 360s -- why limit yourself to one platform?" Without a clearly dominant platform like the PlayStation 1 or 2, he said, it's difficult to profit from console-exclusive games.

"I think people are going to hold off for a long time before getting on to the next generation," Antoniades added. "I think everyone's licking their wounds and releasing new games to try and keep this current generation going. I'm hoping it doesn't come too soon either because we want to make at least a couple more games in this generation." Squeezing in a few more current-gen releases sounds like a good plan -- it'd be tough to be totally broke and have to start developing on new hardware again.
