Whether you're curious about the sweeping changes made since the franchise's initial installment, or you're completely new to the series and want to know exactly how "supreme" it actually is, you can now get a free sneak peek of Gas Powered Games' strategy title Supreme Commander 2. The demo's available today for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, and will be made accessible to lowly Silver peons on April 14.

The demo offers two tutorial levels and two quests from the United Earth Federation campaign, one of the title's three factions and single-player storylines. We were holding out hope for a sample of the Juggalo Nation campaign, but we suppose beggars can't be choosers.

Additionally, the 2010 FIFA World Cup demo is also available today.

[dennissylvesterhurd] In an SEC filing of a letter to investors yesterday, Left Behind Games (the publisher of, um, Left Behind games) detailed plans to expand its Walmart distribution model from an initial 100-store testing ground in Texas to the somewhat amorphous "limited number of Walmart stores covering a broad area of states." CEO Troy Lyndon added, "The original test proved that when Christians are aware of the existence of Left Behind Games, they will respond and purchase them."

In a follow-up conversation, Lyndon told Joystiq that the company's games are no longer available in the original 100 stores, and that the new initiative actually puts LBG's games in fewer stores than before (though this time across multiple states). It's Lyndon's belief, however, that a repackaging of the publisher's games -- all 3 Charlie Church Mouse games in a single $20-priced box and the Left Behind titles released with updates applied -- combined with reaching new markets, "will provide us with ongoing market insight and a chance to enhance sales."

Lyndon also told us that the test in Texas was "a huge success; we performed at about the top 10-percent level last Christmas." Oddly, in neither the letter to investors nor in his conversation with us did Lyndon mention his company's upcoming expansion into console game publishing, Bible Adventures. It's like it just got ... left behind.

Click to be lead to larger image Aside from the headline above, we're going to try our very best to use as few Old West-related puns as we can in giving you the news that publisher Paradox Interactive today announced an April 22 European PSN release date for its upcoming, third-person online shooter, Lead & Gold: Gangs of the Wild West. Apparently, the game won't be moseyi .... er, arriving in other territories until some time "soon" after (we followed up with Paradox for a US release date and were told one isn't available at this time).

We have to imagine that cowpo ... damnit! ... gamers on PC are assuredly sneering at us right now, given their two-week lead time. But we'll see who's got the last laugh when we install Linux on this PS3! Oh ... right.

After the break, we've posted a 4-minute video from the upcoming XBLA multiplayer shooter, Monday Night Combat. You've read our hands-on with the assassin, but this trailer showcases all 6 character classes (in the following order): Assault, Gunner, Sniper, Support, Assassin and Tank. After watching the video, comparisons to Valve's Team Fortress 2 will seem all the more warranted -- but that's certainly not a bad thing.

In addition to the various classes, the video also highlights the in-game upgrade menu. By using cash that you earn throughout a match, you'll be able to upgrade the various skills your character has access to. It's a lot of information to take in, but the video does a great job of explaining how diverse the gameplay of Monday Night Combat is.
