Hello again, I hope you all enjoyed your Easter break. Let’s see what we have in store this week:

For all of you requesting some manga, IDW have provided a corker. Hideyuki Kikuchi’s Vampire Hunter D Vol 1 is set in the post apocalyptic year of 12,090 A.D. From the darkness of fallout, mutants and a race of vampires known as the Nobility have spawned. Villagers live in fear & all they have to battle this danger is a different kind of danger –- enter D –- a lone, mysterious vampire hunter. Definitely deserves its 17+ rating!

Also from IDW we see the return of Zombies Vs Robots with the first issue of a 4 part series: Aventure. Chris Ryall provides the script again (and the audio commentary!), Ashley Wood provides the covers and 3 new artists work on each of the 3 serialised tales. Highly recommended!

If gruesome, ritualistic killings are your cup of tea then check out Markosia’s Ritual. A series of murders in the small town of Black Root all have one thing in common: they’re reminiscent of ancient witch trials. The FBI are on the case and soon realize that a supernatural killer is on the prowl – condemning his victims to diabolical ordeals.

Finally we see the return of the extremely popular Atomic Robo from Red 5 and more Amazing Spider-Man from Marvel.

Enjoy:

Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime calls it an "epic" Collector's Edition, fit for celebrating the long-awaited return of real-time strategy behemoth, StarCraft. The special StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty set includes: a 2GB USB thumb drive which mimics protagonist Jim Raynor's dog tag (and comes loaded with the original StarCraft and its Brood War expansion); a 176-page art book; a behind-the-scenes DVD with interviews, cinematics and developer commentary; a soundtrack CD; a prequel issue in the StarCraft comic series; a mini Thor in-game pet for World of Warcraft; and "exclusive" Battle.net content, such as alternate character decals, skins and profile portraits.

The space treasure trove will set you back $100 -- a cost that is likely to generate much less discussion than the price of the regular edition (picture), which will retail for the atypical suggested price of $60. Blizzard also intends to distribute the game in digital format shortly after launch.

Of course, if you've become enamored with StarCraft 2's ongoing beta as we have, you're ready to exchange every one of your Liberty Dollars for the privilege of knowing the release date. That, Blizzard says, "will be announced in the coming weeks."

We know very little about Monolith Soft's upcoming RPG Xenoblade. It takes place in a world built on top of dead giants, and it involves a battle between humans and robots. One of the few things we now know is the Japanese release date, June 10. The close proximity of the release date makes the mysterious nature of the game all the more notable!

Clearing up almost nothing at all is a series of two trailers released by Nintendo and available on the site (and after the break). The first trailer shows the dramatic battle between the two land-mass-size giants, and the second shows ... what appears to be the main characters just hanging out.

Rockstar Games has today unveiled one of Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer modes. Like Grand Theft Auto IV, "Free Roam" lets players explore the entire single-player gameworld in an online, multiplayer environment. Players can continue to explore on their own, or band together to form "posses" of up to 8 hombres. While possied-up, players can take on other posses, hunt down criminals or start a "group activity," like a traditional multiplayer deathmatch. Up to 16 players can be in the same online lobby simultaneously.

As with GTA IV, experience points are gained as you play through the game. There are 50 levels of character progression, with experience points unlocking new weapons, mounts, characters and challenges.

Today's announcement emphasizes that Free Roam is just one part of the Red Dead Redemption multiplayer experience. "There are more structured competitive modes that we'll reveal soon," Rockstar promises. Catch the trailer after the break.
