[Arcade-History] Final Fight: Double Impact hits download services this week, with the side-scrolling fantasy action game Magic Sword as the delicious second course in the Final Fight meal. Lest you be satisfied with those two games, Capcom design director Kraig Kujawa revealed two more games that were considered for the pack: the 1987 action game Black Tiger, and the horizontal shmup Forgotten Worlds.

In the tweet, Kujawa said these two were the "other games ... considered for Final Fight: Double Impact second billing," suggesting that the plan was for two total games all along. That means that we don't have to cry as we imagine the four-game pack Double Impact almost was, and instead we can concentrate on our delight with Magic Sword.

When you think of casual games, do you automatically associate them with gameplay mechanics that are devoid of any level of depth? I think a lot of us make that association, as we picture casual titles such as any of the numerous mini-game collections on Wii. That’s a line of thinking we’re going [...]

Nothing quite says "Metal Gear Solid" like a collector's edition. Whether it's a PS3 bundle or a camouflage PSP, we've come to expect a certain level of collectability from Kojima Productions' main moneymaker, which is why we're unsurprised to see a listing pop up on GameStop for a Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker "Collector's Edition" -- with a $50 price tag and an "exclusive artbook."

Sure, it might not include the ability to play PSP games while hiding in the jungle, but hey, that exclusive artbook could be really, really neat. For ten bucks, we certainly hope it's one of the neatest artbooks we've ever seen.

Click to enlarge By now you've likely seen the impressive live-action teaser trailer through which Ubisoft announced its latest Ghost Recon title, Future Soldier. If you haven't, well, have a look before reading any further. It's important since, last week at Ubisoft's offices, I saw the actual game in action -- and just about everything from that trailer is an actual gameplay mechanic. And then some.

I got a look at the makings of a future soldier and how their abilities -- gear, weapons and additional battlefield hardware -- will evolve the series, plus how Ubisoft and Red Storm just might have come up with a way for teams to play more like, well, teams in online matches.

Our biggest complaint about the DS Lite has been its woefully small number of LED lights. Thank goodness for modders then, because Tailor Made Toys has crafted the flashy DS Lite you see above. The kicker? It also has force feedback, which comes in two flavors: one is just normal rumble, while the other is a sort of "sensitive mode," best for quieter games and when using headphones.

And if you want to commission one of these for yourself, you can get your own handheld modded for £40. We're not sure what that squiggly line in front of the 40 means, but there it is. Head past the break for a video showing off the mod.

Baseball fans –

It’s always exciting to see new stadiums pop up. The amenities, the technology, and just the overall ambiance of new parks always adds to the experience of seeing a game live and in-person. Today, our cover athlete, Joe Mauer, will be taking the field for his home opener at a brand new address that includes real grass, fresh air, and clear skies (hopefully). The Twins will play host to the Red Sox as they say good-bye to the Metrodome, their home since 1982, and say hello to the state-of-the-art sports cathedral that is Target Field.

So, to celebrate this historic day for Joe and Minnesota fans everywhere, we thought we’d give you a behind the scenes look into how we created the Twins new home in MLB 10 The Show. Our development team strives for ultimate realism in all areas of the game, and that’s no different in this case. I hope you enjoy the glimpse into the making of Target Field.

Welcome to The Show!

At this point, just give into the madness: Ubisoft's Just Dance is an unstoppable beast on the UK all-formats sales chart. According to Chart-Track, the title has been the top-selling Wii game every week in 2010 (except New Year's week) and boogies down as the third-largest third-party Wii game ever in the UK -- Sega's Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Take-Two's Carnival Funfair Games are the top two, respectively.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 regained some ground, crawling back to the second spot, as Just Cause 2 parachuted down another spot to third. Modern Warfare 2 held its ground at fourth as Wii Sports Resort moved up one notch to fifth. The rest of the top ten has some Pokémons sprinkled in there. Check out the complete UK top 10 after the break.

1UP reports that the recently revealed "next Silent Hill" game will not, in fact, be developed by Climax, which is fresh from the totally awesome Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Instead, the lead has been taken by Vatra Games, a Czech studio whose only other credit is retro relaunch Rush'N Attack: Ex-Patriot, also announced on Friday.

It's not that we think Vatra will do a bad job -- we frankly have no clue what they'll do. But we were so looking forward to seeing where Climax took the franchise after Shattered Memories that it's hard to not be a little deflated and, perhaps, even ... shattered by its absence.

On a slightly more informative note, Vatra's official page says it's working on two games for PS3, 360 and PC, so that likely gives an indication of the platforms on which the new Silent Hill will appear.
