Beat-em-ups of the 1990s were long on action and short on story. Like Capcom's Final Fight, re-released this week for consoles. Just how ridiculous is the idea that a former pro rassler could be elected to high office in America? More »
Here's your first look at the new Pokémon Black and White for DS. While at first blush, these four screens look pretty much like Pokemon, they hint at some interesting changes for the engine. For example, the characters are different sizes in the different screens, suggesting that the camera zooms in and out. That city area looks a lot more ... polygonal, in general, as well. Still, we're hoping there's a lot more innovation involved in the actual gameplay, because spruced-up graphics are far from the "rebirth" promised with this game's initial announcement.
The battle sequence shows in-game sprites for the Zorua and Zoroark, the two evolutions of the single new Pokemon announced so far. Pokémon Black and White will be released this fall in Japan.
Netflix is now available on the Wii, isn’t that great? Sure you can’t get a high-def experience out of it, but you can still enjoy thousands upon thousands of movies, right off your little white console. Time to get some more mature content on this baby! Mature content in ratings form, of [...]
Remember this building that we showed you the other day? Man, Nintendo must be pissed about this one.
Oh wait, the shop is gone, and so is the banner! What in the world happened in the span of just two days?! Look out, Nintendo is watching you!
We're not quite sure what we like best about the new video from comedy goldmine Mega64 after the break: the proposed lifelike tech behind the upcoming Nintendo 3DS (we've got our fingers crossed!) or that Korn is currently recording a new song for Haze 2. It's probably the Haze 2 thing.
Regardless, it's a great spoof on an upcoming gaming handheld we know virtually nothing about, which kinda makes the handheld the easiest thing to make fun of right now. Besides Haze, of course.

Are you wondering how Iron Man 2 is going to turn out? No, not the film…that will probably be fun. We’re talking about the game, which no one seems to have high expectations for. That might have something to do with the first game based on the first film, which turned out [...]

Surely by now you've seen how well a cat can perform when faced with Noby Noby Boy and a virtual piano on an iPad. But what about a Welsh Corgi? Brace for massive head tilting and pure canine cowardice. More »

An ongoing investigation has made headlines in South Korean media over the past few days, thanks to an alarming scandal involving StarCraft. Overseas, Blizzard's RTS is played professionally and broadcast on national television. And, like most sports leagues, the competitions have drawn a following from the illegal gambling market.
The growing controversy surrounds a number of professional gamers, including some famous and top-ranked players, accused of intentionally throwing matches to exploit the illegal gambling operations. The Korean police are currently investigating the accusations. However, considering the underground nature of the scandal, it's clear that it will take a long time before all potential suspects are apprehended.
For further coverage, Team Liquid offers a recently updated and extensive overview of the scandal.

A portion of the Powrdup Review:
We tried really hard to appreciate HeartGold/SoulSilver for what it was… which is only a good game, not a great one. It all comes down to the fact that every time we talked about it, there was too much complaining to have it excel beyond any expectations we may have [...]
A 23-year-old Connecticut man out on bail for drug and gun charges was arrested after sending threatening messages to a witness across Xbox Live. According to the New Haven Register, Anthony Hayward allegedly sent an Xbox Live message, stating "Rats die slow" and including the witness's home address, in December.
The previous summer, Hayward had been arrested after a stolen gun was found under the passenger seat of the car he was driving. The witness stated that Hayward placed it there. Hayward surrendered himself to police Tuesday and was charged with "witness tampering, intimidating a witness and two counts of second-degree harassment."
The judge set bail for this latest offense at $50,000. We set ourselves to facepalm.
