Video games aren't just about the games, the story or the graphics. Oh, no. Music is so incredibly important. And often, long after you have finished playing, it sticks around, lingers in the back of your brain. More »
It looks likely that LittleBigPlanet 2 in the works. Musician Christopher Leary (aka Ochre) announced on his Twitter that his song, "Infotain Me" has been licensed to Sony for use in LitteBigPlanet 2 on PS3. This would be the second accidental mention of a sequel to Media Molecule's platformer in under a month.
First spotted by IGN, Sony refused to offer comment on the tweet, simply stating it "does not comment on rumors and speculation." Hopefully, if this sequel is real, it will provide full backwards compatibility with the original game -- something that was promised by Media Molecule's Alex Evans. Listen to the track after the break.

Last month, the Nintendo DS had a hell of a month, selling more thatn 700,000 units to portable gamers in the U.S. That was the same month the larger Nintendo DSi XL launched. How'd it do? More »

Rockstar says Red Dead Redemption will feature three different difficulty modes, and while they're limited mostly to just the game's aiming feature the studio is calling the variable difficulty a first for any open-world game it's ever built. More »
Sony has announced an initiative to bring inexpensive, smaller PSP gaming experiences to the Japanese PlayStation Store. You're probably thinking, "wow, that sounds a lot like the PSP Minis that are currently available in the U.S. and Europe!" While you're not too far off, we feel it pertinent to note that these games will be infinitely more awesome -- if their intoxicatingly brilliant titles are any indication.
For instance, there's a stripped-down baseball sim titled Make Drama Baseball, which belongs to the Feel For Two game collection to be released April 22. Then there's a handful of games pulled from the 2005 minigame collection Work Time Fun, such as Ball Pen Koujou 2, in which you place caps back on ballpoint pens. That's just the tip of the wonderful iceberg -- check out Andriasang for a full list of the bite-sized games.
While an upcoming June PS3 firmware update will bring support for 3D games, it looks like console owners will have to wait to watch 3D Blu-ray movies. According to Tech Radar site Home Cinema Choice, the upcoming PS3 firmware update will not enable support for 3D Blu-rays. In other words, you can enjoy those free games you'll get with that fancy new Bravia 3D TV, but don't bother picking up Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. At least, not right away. 3D movie support is expected to arrive with another firmware update later this year.

By the time you've seen every slime creature, creepy blank-faced monster and human-vs-book argument Nier has to offer, developer Cavia will have more ready for you. Square Enix executive producer Yosuke Saito told Xbox.com (translated by Andriasang) that the team began work on DLC immediately after completing the Famitsu-approved action RPG.
Saito also relayed an alarmingly obscure connection between Nier and a previous Cavia game. Evidently, Nier is set after the events of one of Drakengard's optional endings, in which Japan's landmark Tokyo Tower is visible (impaling a dragon!). That's right -- as if Nier wasn't baffling enough, now it's loosely connected to a possible ending from a relatively obscure game.
We’re hearing the first details of how Cloud Mario might work, and it’s not what I had in mind. When I saw the art earlier today, I expected that the player would wiggle the Wiimote, and a cloud would appear below them. Then you could jump out into open space and have a [...]
Mario Lotto
Nintendo has plenty of cash just laying around their offices. I’m totally sure of it. It’s time for the Big N to start spreading some of that money…through a Mario lottery game! I know I’d put down some cash for a chance to will millions!

All right, so the Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2 crossover DLC "The Passing" passed March by. Valve just announced it'll be available for download next week! We're sure the content will still be fresh, and the zombies still putrid, in April! Valve promised to update the official blog next week with more details.
Additionally, in the spirit of crossover ... ing ... ness ... the Left 4 Dead blog announced that two songs by the fictional Midnight Riders band have been added to the Rock Band Network. For just one dollar each, you can play "Midnight Ride" and "One Bad Man!" It would be appropriate to gather three friends to play the songs with.
