So, you bought yourself a DSi XL and thought to yourself, "You know, this thing is still too portable. And the screen, it lacks so much depth." Thankfully, the fine folks at RealView Innovations have heard your plea and announced plans to bring the V-Screen to Nintendo's not-so-diminutive handheld.

In case you missed the V-Screen for PSP, here's the breakdown: It attaches to your handheld, adds considerable bulk and kinda, sorta makes the screen look 3D ... a little bit. Don't take our word for it though, you can see for yourself in our extensive video impressions here.

We're usually a pretty jaded bunch here at Joystiq, but bringing 3D effects to the DS actually seems like a great idea. It's a wonder that no one thought of it before.

If you're a fan of platform jumping, uncertainty, and radical injustices, you might be a fan of the most recent addition to the PSP (and PS3) Minis platform: Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess. The game puts you in the shoes of the accusatory Duke, who spends his days climbing platforms while beating the crap out of his underlings whom he's positive have absconded with his soul mate. Probably. In all likelihood. Perhaps.

The game's available to purchase on the PSN today for $4.99. Just be aware that with your purchase, you're supporting monster stereotyping. Are you really cool with that?

You don't just stumble upon a kindred spirit every day. In a new promo video for The Passing -- Left 4 Dead 2's new chapter available today on the Xbox 360 and PC -- it takes an apocalypse to bring Francis and Rochelle together. Well, that and their shared "glass is half empty" outlook on life.

The Passing also kicks off a brand new weekly event in Left 4 Dead 2: Mutations. These are one-off custom game types created by Valve, with a different game type available each Thursday. Today introduces Realism Versus: a match of Versus with Realism enabled, making it much tougher to play as a Survivor and a heck of a lot easier to play as an Infected. In this mode, Valve anticipates the Jockey will be one of the most effective Specials.

More Halo: Reach news than you can shake a gravity hammer at today, as Bungie, in addition to revealing the Reach special editions, has also released a brand new multiplayer ViDoc and a new 3D screenshot. The ViDoc goes over the various weaponry and modes you'll be playing with in the beta next month. The shot showcases a still from Reach's new Invasion mode which, if you haven't heard, sounds just super great. Check out the video above, and have fun with the 3D screen after the break.

Mark April 29 on your calendars now, because it’s the day you’re going to see our next 100% Free MAG DLC add-on! Known as the “Fast Attack” Gear Pack, our latest downloadable extra will likely cause marksmen to swoon.

Why? Two big reasons. First, we’re adding three brand new Special Edition Sniper Rifles (Raven’s HM 90 SE, SVER’s SASR M, and Valor’s MK 14 Mod 1 EBR) that include a number of performance adjustments and visual variations to our already-popular long-range weapons. Second, you can expect to get your hands on a collection of new armor types! All three factions can now choose to equip Improved Light Armor in their loadouts for the bargain price of just 400 in-game credits.

Oh, and did we mention that the “Fast Attack” Gear Pack is free? Yes, we did, but we’re saying it again anyway. Look for it to appear in the PlayStation Store the afternoon of April 29, alongside all other scheduled PSN updates.

If Alan Wake's TV show-like presentation isn't, well, enough like a TV show for you, here's some good news: next week, the first episode in a six-part live-action Alan Wake series will be available on Xbox Live.

Bright Falls, shot on location in Oregon, acts as a prequel to the events in the game -- which hopefully means that at least some weirdness was taking place in the game's location before the arrival of Mr. Wake. Otherwise, we'll be watching six episodes about a really pleasant town. Allaying the concern we just expressed, Microsoft promises that the series "evokes the same ghostly chills as 'Twin Peaks' did when it premiered 20 years ago this month."

The first two episodes will be available for Xbox Live Gold members on April 25, for everyone else on Xbox Live on April 26, and on brightfalls.com on April 27, with one new episode releasing each week until May 17's two-part finale. That date happens to be one day before the Xbox 360 game's release date, at which point you'll get to see the rest of the story in the game -- and the short story included with the collector's edition.

Sid Meier's Pirates!, a game that sails the line between casual and core, has been given an ESRB rating for the Wii. Pirates! has had a long career since setting out for adventure in 2004, finding new booty across PC, Xbox, PSP and Mac. The game was rated E 10+, so parents be warned: there's "some female characters [who] wear low-cut dresses that expose a lot of cleavage."

We've contacted 2K Games for more information about how the Wii's features will be implemented and when the game will pull into Port Retail.
