Here at Joystiq, your health is our main priority. That's why we ensure that each and every post we present is void of toxins and meets your daily requirement of Vitamin Verbose. Still, sometimes we have to stray into the danger zone with things like this multplayer trailer for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter.

Basically, the trailer's got more flashing lights than '70s disco -- but if that's no concern for you, feel free to soak in the 14 multiplayer modes presented above, which run the gamut from co-op to competitive to objective-based modes. It's a smorgasbord of multiplayer mayhem, really.

There are tried-and-true gametypes like Capture the Flag and your usual Deathmatch variants available, but our interest lies in some of the more original modes: BeastHunt, My Burden, and Co-Op Survival look like they're quite fun.

In case you missed Siliconera's translation of the Iwata Asks interview with Treasure about Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Nintendo of America has posted its own translation. And if you have read it, you'll appreciate Nintendo's updated translation of Iwata's statement that the N64 "was a machine that was hard to create things for and didn't work at all." Now that semi-infamous line -- probably more accurately -- states that "If you didn't do it well, it wouldn't work at all."

Later in the interview, Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamigami described the difficulty of working with Treasure on the first Sin & Punishment, given, well, the difficulty of Treasure games. "When I said, 'It's too difficult. I can't do it," they responded, 'Then you're not good enough to be in charge of this project.'" It took about a year for the team to finally determine that Sin & Punishment was, in fact, too difficult.

For Star Successor, Nintendo's Yurie Hattori joined the project and initially found it too difficult as well, pushing to make the game more accessible. While she did prevail upon Treasure to streamline the experience with a tutorial, she eventually discovered the Treasure fan within her and ended up recommending that the difficulty be increased.

Want to see what won't be available this week in BioShock 2? 2K's new trailer for the downloadable Rapture Metro Pack, due sometime in the indefinite future, gives us an idea of what the new content will be like whenever it deigns to make an appearance.

All six new multiplayer maps are highlighted in this trailer in gameplay footage -- hectic, hyper-violent gameplay footage depicting BioShock 2 multiplayer sessions. In fact, 2K seems intent upon filling every moment of this trailer with brutality, even to the point of showing someone blowing himself up by accident. Way to sell that content!

Without any indication of a release date, we'll just play it safe and say that you'll be able to get your hands on these new maps sometime this year.

Nintendo of Japan has unveiled the latest prizes to tempt people out of their Club Nintendo coins: a series of Japanese folding fans in Mario and Animal Crossing motifs. For 150 coins each, the service has four surprisingly cool-looking fans: one featuring Mario on a monochrome background, one with Bloobers on blue, an Animal Crossing fireworks scene, and another Animal Crossing image with a pink color scheme. These will be available through June 30. Nintendo also put the Mario poster set on the Japanese site.

We used to see things like these and lament the fact that they'd never be available outside of Japan. But North America's Club Nintendo actually brings over a lot of stuff from the Japanese club now!

With airport security so unpredictable these days, it's just not safe to travel with your consoles anymore. So why travel at all? It's a question that The Ritz-Carlton resort in Naples, Fla. has tried to answer with the introduction of its new "vue."

That's right -- it would seem that the "dazzling" views of the Gulf of Mexico just aren't engaging enough for today's vacationer, so the hotel has constructed a "virtual user experience." That's marketing-speak for "really jazzy living room." Pictured above, you'll spot the room's setup of LCDs wired to Wiis, PS3s and Xbox 360s, along with some iMacs in the center (not known for gaming, but they sure look swell.)

We know it's a little awkward to share your "living room" with complete strangers, but after a few heavy cocktails, who isn't down for a wicked Rock Band sesh with that one couple's only child, who happens to be allergic to the sun? Hmmm ... on second thought, maybe a "staycation" does better suit your budget this year.

Baseball fans –

Next up on our divisional predictions series is the National League West. This division sent both the Rockies and Dodgers to the post season last year and could exceed expectations once again in 2010. The Dodgers will likely contend for first place, but really need their young guns in Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier to step up and lead the way. Same goes for the Rockies…anchored by Troy Tulowitzki and veteran Todd Helton, expect Colorado to make a run for the division crown once again. The Giants came up a bit short last season, but with aces in Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum, they should have a shot, assuming their offense can pick up the slack. Next up are the Diamondbacks…with solid pitching in Dan Haren and Justin Upton leading the way at the plate, can they turn around a last place finish from last year? Last up are the Padres who finished the ’09 season on a high note. If Adrian Gonzalez and the rest of the squad can build on last year’s momentum, they might just be the dark horse in the division.

Here’s a look at our final NL West predictions video showing you which teams will come out on top this October according to MLB 10 The Show.

Welcome to The Show!
