This isn’t a confirmation by any means, but it’s interesting to see that both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk have the same release date for Metroid: Other M. Remember, Europe never officially got a release date for Other M, so anything is possible right now. Thanks to Frank for the heads up!

Games Distillery has released some new details about its upcoming XBLA game, Aqua: Naval Warfare. Players will take control of one of three different basic ships: the speedboat, the cruiser or the gunship. Each vessel offers its own strengths and weaknesses. The speedboat is agile but low on firepower, while the gunship is slow but powerful. Meanwhile, the cruiser is an "all-rounder" with no outstanding weaknesses or strengths. Each craft can also be upgraded in the game's "Warshops" and via upgrades hidden in the game's levels.

Aqua also allows players to issue commands to a squadron of four support ships. These ships provide a variety of support abilities including healing, extra firepower and sonar. Check out screens of each vessel and the support ships in the gallery below.

In a recent update on the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 developer blog, assistant producer Akihito Kadowaki wrote, "Development is approaching a climax" (as translated by Andriasang). While Kadowaki didn't elaborate on the exact meaning of that statement, it could suggest that the game's groundwork is almost complete, leaving plenty of time for the team to focus on character balancing before the game's expected release in spring 2011. Other, completely unlikely scenarios include: (1) Development is about to be handed off to British indie studio Climax Group for the finishing touches; or (2) an agreement has been reached with Sega to add Bayonetta to the roster to ensure that once this mysterious climax is reached, it will be nonstop.

Kadowaki also hinted that MvC3 would appear at an event -- hmm, what's coming up? If the core development phase, which reportedly began almost two years ago, is nearing completion, perhaps we could soon see a gameplay demonstration. Dare we even hope for a playable E3 demo?

I don’t think the Mirror Shield would hold up too well in a fight, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t pretty. This is the type of shield you take home and hang up over your fireplace. You know, after you’ve managed to defeat Ganon, of course!

PopCap's remarkably popular casual games have been released on just about every gaming platform on the current market, save for one notable exception: Wii. That could soon change, however, according to the USK. Germany's ratings board has listed the match-three puzzle game Bejeweled 2 for release on Wii. Now Mike Leyde can start all over again -- with a new control scheme!

If you haven't played Bejeweled 2, you can download it here or play a web version here. Oh, but first, clear your day.

No word on whether or not this will be a retail release or WiiWare release, and when PopCap was asked for comment, they wouldn’t say a thing. I wonder why we’re getting Bejeweled 2 instead of 3!
