We can already see a hot new trend surfacing in the gaming hardware modding world: Hastily conceived designs featuring the handheld ShowWX laser projector. Yesterday, we saw what happens when the pint-sized display was adhered to an iPhone 3GS; today, we see how Nirav Patel managed to stick the projector (and a Spacepoint Fusion gyrometer) to a Zapper-equipped Wii Remote. The result is a somewhat disorienting 360-degree "virtual reality" display, which is just perfect for playing simple, open source first-person shooters with.

Check out a video after the jump to see Patel's projectorgun in action. We'd hate to find ourselves on the business end of that bad boy.

I’m thinking this is a WiiWare listing, as a boxed version of this game probably wouldn’t do too well. I’m not surprised to learn about this title coming to WiiWare, as Firemint said that a console version wasn’t out of the question!

Looks like consumers are hungry for the black Wii. GameStop has had to limit purchases to two consoles per household, as they’re seeing a high level of demand. No word on just how many black Wii units GameStop is getting, but they must have trouble fulfilling orders with the way they’re limiting sales.

A portion of an Aeropause review… Project Runway isn’t targeted toward “gamers” in the first place, so they wouldn’t mind the mis-steps… but even non-gamers will notice the missing tension, the lack of creative design, and the cheesy, rushed use of the show’s cast. Fans of the show may enjoy spinning through a couple challenges, but [...]

Get ready for a huge influx of Netflix users on the Wii. I can’t believe Netflix did a Wii-specific commercial like that. It’s a pretty good one, at that! Thanks to Dakaggo for the heads up.

"Will there ever be new Dragon Ball games?," you begged. "Will they be sequels?," you cried. Namco Bandai has heard your pleas, Dragon Ball fans. There will be more Dragon Ball games after all! One of them is even a sequel.

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 is set to fill that Goku-shaped void in your PS3 or Xbox 360 with 20 more characters than the first Raging Blast. That and a "new Raging Soul System which enables characters to reach a special state, increasing their combat abilities to the ultimate level." Yes, they can power up.

Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team is a fighting game for PSP featuring four-player simultaneous Ad Hoc battles. Both are due "this fall." Hang in there!
