When Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed the PSP Yakuza spinoff "Project K," he suggested that it was so different from the main console series that it may not even bear the "Ryu ga Gotoku" name (the Japanese title of the series). Nagoshi, remembering how nice it is when a game makes money, has revealed that it will have the series name after all.
The new game is called Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinshou ("Black Leopard: New Yakuza Chapter"). The Famitsu article (summarized by 1UP) also announced a September 22 Japanese release date for the spinoff, which focuses on a new, younger character who isn't a gangster.

Yesterday, we weren't sure if the list of Mac games in the Steam for Mac beta client was going to be available -- not to mention functional!-- for today's launch, but it appears our skepticism was misplaced. With the Steam for Mac service now live [DMG download] we were heartened to find that the list of 50 games, which you can read after the break, were still there and, even better, able to be downloaded! In this writer's case, games I had purchased on Steam for Windows previously (hello, The Dig!) downloaded just fine for me on Mac OS.
Like we said yesterday, many of Valve's other games, including the Half-Life and Left 4 Dead series, while still promised for the Mac platform, are currently unavailable. We expect them to arrive in the subsequent weeks, as "additional collections of Mac titles will become available, each designed to highlight specific functionalities of Steam on the Mac." For now, you'll have to settle for Portal and Team Fortress 2 ... or one of the other 48 titles available today. (We've bolded some of our picks after the break.)
First, a word of warning to would-be Mac gamers: You don't need to download every game right away. They're not going anywhere! Just take it easy, one game at a time, and soon enough playing "games" on your Mac will feel just right as rain.

Your choices for downloadable games in this week's European PSN update are fairly limited -- however, the two choices you've got are rather appealing. If you're looking for a hex-based diplomacy simulator, Catan is now available for the PS3. If you want some jetpack-infused action, Rocket Knight is probably a safer choice. Or, if you want to pimp out your copy of Skate 3, DJ Hero, Nier or LittleBigPlanet with new DLC, there are a few avenues for you to explore as well. Everyone's a winner!

(Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.)

From what we hear, the kids are all abuzz about something called "The Facebook" these days. Japanese game publisher Capcom is jumping on board the popular social network, with president Haruhiro Tsujimoto revealing in a recent interview with BusinessWeek that a new game could be ready before the end of the fiscal year (ending March 31, 2011).
"Gaming on social networks is poised to impact the traditional video game industry and is a presence that cannot be ignored. We have to make our move," he said. Presumably, Tsujimoto and Capcom want a low-investment moneymaker on Facebook to help bolster the coming year's sales over last year's "sluggish" earnings. For our part, we're hoping for a Resident Evil-based, free-to-play management sim. Who isn't?
An alleged Target inventory listing appears to indicate the impending arrival of a new PlayStation 3 bundle. According to the printout (seen above) and a photograph of a scanner (posted after the break), the bundle includes a 250GB PS3 Slim and a copy of MLB '10 The Show for $349.99. It'll hit store shelves on June 13. We've contacted a number of Target locations, one of which was able to confirm that the listing was in their database.
Given the recent deal struck up between the MLB and Sony to stream live baseball games directly to the console, an MLB '10 bundle seems like an appropriate promotion. Regardless, we've contacted Sony to see if we can get a comment about this listing's authenticity.

Triple Crown Championship Snowboarding may come from the same publisher as Stoked, but don’t confuse this twisted mess with that solid snowboarding game. With its lack of depth, short story mode and ho-hum controls, you definitely get what you pay for when you buy Triple Crown Championship Snowboarding!

Whether you're a big fan of Captain Planet, or a proficient Pokémon battler, or a secret lifetime member of the Illuminati, or you really love funk -- you're probably familiar with the four main natural elements: Earth, Fire, Wind and Water. The latest trailer for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands shows how each of these elements plays a part in combat and platforming. That includes the Prince's ability to dash through the air, or freeze and climb upon jets of water.
Be warned -- we've watched it about seven times now, and we've yet to see any representation for the greatest element of all: Heart.
