A new batch of games has landed on Steam for Mac. While there are several new single-player titles available, it's the new multiplayer titles that are particularly noteworthy. The reason: Multiplayer is compatible across both Mac and PC platforms. Leading the cross-platform charge is cooperative zombie murder sim Killing Floor. Two other cross-platform titles now available include Madballs in Babo: Invasion and Altitude, a 2D aerial dogfighting game.

To mark the occasion all three games are on sale, with Killing Floor priced at $13.99 (33 percent off) and both Altitude and Madballs available for $4.99 each. Plus, Altitude will be free to play this weekend. Incidentally, these sales apply to the PC versions as well.

We've got two Xbox Live Arcade staples this week. First is Metal Slug XX, which has the advantage of Xbox Live online play over its XBLA cousin, Metal Slug 3. Next, we've got yet another twin-stick shooter in Aqua. As its title suggests, Aqua flavors its twin-stick shooting antics with an extra dose of H20 (and torpedoes). Metal Slug XX will run you 1200 ($15), while Aqua is 800 ($10). Watch this week's XBLA in Brief and decide if either tickles your fancy for destruction.

No More Heroes and Killer 7 creator Suda 51 is thinking about what he'd like to do with Nintendo's 3DS -- and, naturally, the designer's first idea manages to be both movie-inspired and kind of insane. Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, Suda offered one of his "many ideas" for the 3D handheld: "I hope for the realization of a training remote like Luke Skywalker used for force training in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope."

"I would love to try to develop a game for 3DS if I have a chance," Suda added. Perhaps he'll get his chance after completing the mysterious project he's making for EA with Shinji Mikami. By then, he'll probably have changed his mind about making a DS game about being shot with lasers while blindfolded.

You remember this title, right? We covered it a long time ago, but now it looks like it’s going to see localization as ‘Zenquaria: Virtual Aquarium’. While all we have is an OFLC listing, I’m thinking the title is a lock for all regions.

A trusted Joystiq source has confirmed that Taito's mobile and iPhone game Space Invaders Infinity Gene is coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. Further corroborating our source's intel is Australian ratings board the OFLC, which has published a rating for an unspecified "multiplatform" release of Infinity Gene. Ubisoft, which distributes Square Enix titles in Australia is listed as the publisher. (Square Enix is the parent company of Taito.)

With some neat functionality -- the iPhone version lets players generate levels based on their stored music -- and an HD facelift, we'd be willing to bet Space Invaders Infinity Gene wouldn't find much opposition on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. Previously, Taito released a version of its handheld series Space Invaders Extreme on XBLA to positive reception.

Much like a surreptitious gaggle of programming ninjas, Rockstar recently swooped into the code of your copy of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360, and remedied a problem you likely didn't know you had. Apparently, players who attempted to play the game's multiplayer component over system link were having some trouble doing so. In like, the first nine hours the game was available.

Rockstar Tweeted yesterday that a patch had been put into place which fixes the System Link snafu, so if you you were one of the eight people who attempted to use that feature between yesterday morning and yesterday evening, then it's now safe to go give it another shot. Also, here's a great, informative article about the Internet. Yeah, apparently it's this new thing that lets you play games with your friends without having to suffer their actual physical adjacence.

Trainer sprites from HeartGold and SoulSilver. Red circles = female sprites with incredible pigeon-toeing. Yellow circles = female sprites without incredible pigeon-toeing. Yes, I know it’s a really random thing to pick out, but some people follow this stuff! I’m surprised I never noticed just how bad smoe of those stances are!

Looks like you can unlock a different character style in The Forgotten Sands on Wii. No word on how you do this, but it’s something to look forward to! I can’t wait to dive into my copy.
