The DS has a couple of music creation apps, including two Korg titles and the DSiWare app Rytmik. Now, you'll be able to assemble the dance track of your dreams on Wii, thanks to Digital Leisure. The publisher is releasing Mix Superstar on WiiWare sometime this year.

Mix Superstar contains over 1,000 royalty-free samples that you can assemble into your own tracks, with the addition of vocals from a USB mic or Wii Speak. Songs can be downloaded or sent to friends via WiiConnect24. New loops can be purchased as DLC.

Check out a trailer for the musical toy after the break.

One of Sony's major E3 titles has been revealed slightly ahead of time. Sony and Guerrilla Games are delivering on Jack Tretton's impromptu promise: Killzone 3 is real, and you'll be able to see it for yourself in the July issue of GamePro, on shelves June 1. A subscriber spilled the Helghan beans on the GameSpot forums, also revealing that the game is playable in 3-D, with the effect requiring the use of glasses (oh, and a 3-D-capable television). GamePro has confirmed the cover story to Joystiq.

That means that Killzone 3 is going to be a showpiece for Sony's 3-D technology, and therefore we should probably expect to hear a lot about it at the company's E3 presentation.

Sony's senior vice president of publisher relations, Rob Dyer, has always been vocal about the "biggest problem" that plagues the PSP: Piracy. However, a new endeavor by the platform holder may offer renewed hope in the continued battle against illegal downloads. Dyer told Gamasutra that Sony has been helping developers implement some kind of protective code, potentially offering "a 60-day shelf life" before a game inevitably "gets hacked."

Dyer did not provide details on how this added code functions, and whether or not it functions similarly to the PlayStation Network connectivity first tested in SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3. Like EA Sports' Online Game Pass, all online functionality of Bravo 3 is locked out for gamers that don't buy a legitimate copy of the game at retail or online. The upcoming PSP version of ModNation Racers also features the same restrictions.

"It's become a very difficult proposition to be profitable," Dyer admitted. With PSP on the cusp of a series of major releases -- including God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep -- publishers and developers will undoubtedly want to pay close attention to Sony's continued battle against non-seafaring pirates.

Gus Johnson is no ho-hum, run-of-the-mill announcer. He really gets into it. EA has taken notice and tapped Johnson for play-by-play announcer duties in Madden 11. Johnson will join Cris Collinsworth, who returns this year to provide the color commentary.

Johnson replaces Tom Hammond, whose commentary tracks last year were criticized by Madden players as being wooden and lifeless. While it's difficult to program engaging game commentary with pre-recorded audio, EA Tiburon remains committed to improving this facet of its football mega-franchise. With 90,000 lines of dialogue going into Madden 11, players will hear more dynamic play-calling than in past iterations, whether it's when a receiver drops a catch or a running back breaks into the open field.

Above, watch a video of some of the developers discussing the new audio approach in Madden 11. For a preview of Johnson doing some lines for the game, hit up ESPN.

Every once in a while, our very plane of existence will be split into two by a major decision affecting the course of history, creating what scientists refer to as a "parallel universe." Less frequently, a window will open up which lets us catch a quick glimpse into the world of what might have been. Irrational Games threw open just such a window yesterday by releasing the pitch document for BioShock, which was planned to be a very different monster from the game we all know and love. Specifically, a sea monster.

Some things in the document stayed true -- genetic modification was a major aspect of the pitch. Most of it ... well, let's just say we're glad things changed the way they did. We're not sure the story of Carlos Cuello, who must infiltrate a remote island run by cultists to rescue a wealthy heiress, would be quite so memorable. Also, those aforementioned genetic modifications give you traits of different sea creatures instead of regular ol' superpowers.

Also, there was supposed to be multiplayer. Multiplayer! In BioShock! Have you ever heard of anything so preposterous?

Although Killzone 2 didn't win many Game of the Year awards from gaming sites, it has managed to garner a number of other noteworthy nods. In addition to winning a Roses Design award in November, Guerrilla's PS3-exclusive FPS has now won a Ivor Novello award for "Best Original Video Game Score."

Composer Joris de Man has the special honor of not only winning the award, but winning the very first award given to a video game in the organization's 55-year history. Should you want to re-experience the now-award winning score, the soundtrack can be found on iTunes for $10.

If we had a high-tech time gauntlet thing, we'd probably just go around turning dogs back into puppies all day. The world needs more cute puppies, right? For Singularity's protagonist, however, it's a tool to aid in the destruction of his enemies.

The latest trailer for the game highlights the Deadlock feature, an ability that generates a small field slowing the momentum of anything caught in it. This can stop enemies dead in their tracks or help the player navigate past a deadly electrical hazard. Perhaps its greatest ability is how it affects munitions -- bullets slow down to a crawl, making what would otherwise be a bullseye for a huge rocket result in a miss.

Sega has announced a second game for people who bought that $300 Xbox 360 twin stick controller. Now it's totally a worthwhile investment!

Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Force is a port of the latest arcade Virtual-On title, which adds 2-on-2 battles to the usual robot-fighting formula. The Xbox 360 version will allow players to meet up online or pit their Virtuaroids against one another offline in split-screen. The main gameplay mode in team battles involves assigning the position of "Leader" to one player on each team, who must be defeated for the opposing team to win. Players can protect the leader (or either teammate) with a health-sharing "Rescue Dash" move.

Virtual-On Force will be released in Japan this winter -- on a disc, unlike the recent port of Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram.
