We are looking for fans of the series to come in and give us an hour of their time and let us know what you think! We need participants this Thursday, May 27th from the following times:

  • Session 1: 11:00AM – 12:00PM
  • Session 2: 1:00PM – 2:00PM

Requirements for the Playtest are as follows:

  • Be at least 18 years or older.
  • Be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to keep what you see a secret until further notice.
  • Have played the God of War franchise and be familiar with its awesomeness.
  • Live in the LA area with reliable transportation to the playtest.

As a gift from the Gods, we will bestow upon some of our latest PSP titles for your time and effort.

If you are interested in this opportunity and meet the above requirements, please email us at gowlaplaytest@gmail.com with your name, address, contact phone number and your preference of which session you would like to join. If you do not have a session preference, please note in your email “any available session.”

If you have been selected, you will receive email confirmation with a location and time of check-in.

Space is extremely limited, so ACT FAST!

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you, the fans!

The expansive (and somewhat irreverent) "Metro Pack" DLC for the multiplayer portion of BioShock 2 will be available for the PC version of the game tomorrow. The pack includes six new maps, three new Achievements and a "Rebirth" feature which lets level 50 players restart their careers, and will be available on the Games for Windows Live Marketplace for 800 ($10). Players can also grab two new multiplayer characters for 160 ($2), and all players can grab the (sigh) golf clubs-only "Kill'Em Kindly" deathmatch mode for free.

Of course, this expansion caused a handful of game-crashing issues for folks who purchased it on 360 and PS3 two weeks ago. Not to worry -- a patch for the game is also set to go live tomorrow, which we hope will preempt these issues.

I kinda dislike it when heavily single-player games (Like Bioshock, for example) that happen to also feature multiplayer modes just get DLC for their multiplayer modes; the campaign deserves some love, as well

If you were looking for a way to make a $150 arcade stick for Super Street Fighter IV seem like a reasonable and sensible expense, here it is: the Super Street Fighter IV HDTV. Roundtable Concepts is introducing a line of LED televisions featuring Super Street Fighter IV logos and imagery on the casing -- as well as a "Street Fighter image" that will "appear on the screen for 8 seconds when you power it on." This is absolutely the TV for people who love Street Fighter to the exclusion of all else, including money and common sense.

The TVs will be available "in the upcoming weeks" in 32", 40", 42", and 46" sizes, for as-yet unannounced prices. The company also produces Marvel-branded TVs, as well as TVs bearing college logos.

I'm still interested in picking up Super Street Fighter IV; I know it's lower in price than the original, but I'm still probably going to wait until I find a coupon or it comes down in price lower

Rockstar's dusty western, Red Dead Redemption, has taken the top spot on the UK software sales charts -- Take-Two's first multiplatform title to do so since Bioshock 2, according to Chart-Track. it's also the first top multiplatform title for Rockstar since the debut of GTA IV way back in 2008.

That's not to say there weren't other highlights in this week's dog and pony show. Coming in second was 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, while Ubisoft's Just Dance managed to move to the beat of third. Black Rock Studios' Split/Second also managed to make an appearance at the fifth spot, while European developer Remedy Entertainment's psychological thriller, Alan Wake, was pushed back into the shadows down to the eighth spot -- a major drop from its previous second place spot last week.

There hasn't been a new Art Style game on WiiWare since October 2008 -- they've all gone to DSiWare since that platform launched. Today, the series returns to Wii, in much the same way as it started: with a fancy update to a GBA Bit Generations game. It's accompanied by a compelling, odd-looking game from NIS America.

Meanwhile, DSiWare has poker, a vertical shmup, a puzzle game about racing, and a hidden object game about historical crime. See all the new downloads after the break.

According to an Associated Press report, Bungie has revealed that Halo: Reach will hit store shelves worldwide on September 14 (with the exception of Japan, where it will launch the following day). That's going to be a rough, rough way to start your school year.

The report also reveals that over 2.7 million players logged more than 16 million hours and 1.1 billion kills in the Reach beta during its 18 days of availability. Some may see that as a precursor to Reach's certain retail success -- we see it as a testament to Halo players' startling murder efficiency.
