A joint press release from Yahoo and Farmville creator Zynga has announced that the two have entered into a ... wait just a darn minute. Didn't we already write this post? We swear, we wrote this very post just last week. Oh, that was when Zynga partnered with Facebook? Now it's hopping in bed with Yahoo? Man, this casual developer certainly gets around, doesn't it?
Anyway, according to the presser, Zynga's games will be distributed through Yahoo's network of online properties in the coming months, including "the Homepage, Yahoo! Games, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger and others." It also gives Zynga access to the Yahoo! Application Platform, which will allow them to develop games specifically for use on Yahoo's various web portals. We hope they take the relationship one step further, merging their names into one completely ridiculous moniker. Maybe Yahooga? Or, perhaps, Zyngoo?

Man, Sega's just full of surprises, isn't it? Earlier today, the company announced Sonic Colors (or Colours, if you live in a country that spells that word that ridiculous way). a new platformer featuring the blue hedgehog and his new troupe of polychromatic friends. Sonic will have to navigate a sci-fi themed amusement park to thwart the plans of -- who else -- Dr. Eggman by saving multicolored aliens, each of which bestow a certain special ability upon the series' attitude-filled protagonist. That sounds like it has the propensity be be more colorful and trippy than a Flaming Lips concert.
According to Sega Europe's blog, the game is set to drop for Wii and DS in late 2010. You can check out an extremely brief announcement trailer posted after the break.
Reader Carlos loved our original post of the Sonic Obama Harry Potter backpack that he couldn’t stop laughing. His girlfriend happened to notice that he enjoyed the backpack a lot, so she tried to hunt down a real-life version. When that couldn’t be done, she decided to do the next best thing. [...]

Guerilla Games showed Killzone 3 in action for the first time tonight at an event in San Francisco, and Joystiq was there. Managing director Hermen Hulst was on hand to lay out some key details about the sequel -- unfortunately, any sort of release date wasn't among them.
Saying that the team was inspired by the ambition exhibited by other Sony Worldwide Studios releases, specifically Uncharted 2 and God of War 3, Hulst detailed planned improvements across the board for Killzone 3. Chief among them is more variety in environments, weapons, vehicles and enemies. Promising more epic, unique moments throughout, he pointed out that the first three minutes of the demo featured more cinematics and scripted events than the entire first level of Killzone 2.
We'll be delivering our full hands-on with the game at noon PDT, but for now you can read on after the break for more on Killzone3's new environments, weapons and more.
The official Japanese website for Sonic Colors has opened up, and it brings the same teaser trailer that we saw earlier today. The only other thing we get is an animated, trippy background that might make you freak out if you stare too long!
I don’t know why, but Ubisoft has decided to pick three members of the group AKB48 to promote Red Steel 2 in Japan. The three members are Sayaka Akimoto, Ayaka Umeda, and Yuka Masuda, and they must be feeling pretty special to be the chosen ones. I mean, AKB48 has 48 members in [...]
Having not played all that many Dragon Quest games in my lifetime, I really don’t know all that much about the way in-game dialog is handled. After reading the article above, it seems like Dragon Quest localizations might take things a bit too far in a certain, campy direction. It borders on charm, [...]

Here's a trailer for this weekend's Red Dead Redemption "short film", which believe it or not has been done by John Hillcoat, director of The Road and, more importantly, The Proposition. More »
“We worked on a bunch of things between the two games-obviously, the most apparent one is the dual-wield thing. Starkiller can use two lightsabers now, but there’s a lot more going on, too. We completely overhauled the combo system, which is really important. There’s a really high degree of environment interactivity. There’s a ton [...]
We’ve posted a few videos of Yoshi’s infinite flutter jump glitch in Super Mario Galaxy 2. In the screen past the jump, you can see Yoshi being used during a boss battle. The thing is, Yoshi isn’t supposed to be around during the battle!
As you can see, Yoshi can now get invovled with [...]

Project Natal is, if you hadn't worked it out by the whole "project" bit, simply a working title for Microsoft's upcoming motion sensing peripheral. What's its actual name? We don't know, but we're about to find out. More »
Our poor, transatlantic pals living in the UK have been wracked with a pretty significant retail shortage of Rockstar's latest open-world opus, Red Dead Redemption. Fortunately, Rockstar Games UK boss Neil Stephen (the man so nice, they named him twice) has told VG247 that Take-Two has been working with UK retail outlets to remedy the supply issues, stating, "we believe the situation should be resolved by this weekend, so we'd like to thank everyone involved for their part in this."
We're guessing Rockstar's solution to the shortages was to locate the rumored sunken cargo ship which dragged a few crates of the game to the bottom of the briny deep. If that's the case, we hope UK gamers enjoy finally getting their hands on copies of the game, and all of the barnacles therein.
I can’t even talk about Fatal Relations more than I did in the title above. It’s a hentai game that was on the PC, and now it’s received a homebrew port for the DS. It’s hentai, so that means you’ll need to be 18 in order to play this one. Definitely not [...]
Soon you will know the true meaning of power -- that is, should you decide to download Star Wars Empire at War, the latest RTS available on Steam. Developed by Petroglyph Games way back in 2006, it takes place during the events leading up to Episode IV. The Gold Pack edition on Steam even includes the Forces of Corruption expansion, which adds a host of new units, heroes and planets, as well as an expanded multiplayer suite. Sorry, Mac owners -- this one's Windows only.
Not a big Star Wars fan? No worries, because Steam is also slashing 50% off the Lucasarts Adventure Pack, a collection of four classic adventure titles: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, LOOM and The Dig. All four of these titles are Steam Play compatible and will run on your Mac. You can get 'em for $5, only a little more than a buck a game. That's a pretty damn good deal, if you ask us.
[Thanks, CCC]
