A rumor popped up on French site wootgaming last week stating that Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel had left Ubisoft, and work had ceased on Beyond Good & Evil 2. It wasn't that hard to believe, given Ubisoft's attitude toward the game -- which seems to range from nonchalance to outright denial of its existence.

According to a terse statement to Eurogamer from Ubisoft, Ancel is still at Ubisoft, and Beyond Good & Evil 2 development continues at its glacial pace. "There are no changes on the horizon," an Ubisoft rep said. Eurogamer then asked if the statement referred specifically to Ancel still being at Ubisoft, and BG&E2's development continuing -- to which the rep responded, simply, "Yes." Apparently, even PR doesn't want to spend too much time talking about BG&E2.Ubisoft: Michel Ancel still with the company, Beyond Good & Evil 2 still in development

The last page in the most recent issue of Portugal's PlayStation: The Official Magazine features a pair of eyes you might be familiar with, depending on how frequently you stare into the baby blues of your video game protagonists. Scrawl captured the image of the teasing brow, which appears to belong to one Cole McGrath, hero (or anti-hero) of inFamous. That observation is supported by the text following the image, which translates to "the announcement of a great PlayStation 3 exclusive sequel in the next ROPS." (ROPS is the acronym for the magazine's Portuguese edition.)

Now that the pile of evidence indicating a sequel to last year's charged action game is teetering into the clouds, we think it's safe to expect some form of announcement at E3. In fact, we'd be shocked if ... no? We can't use that one anymore? Fair enough.

We were less than impressed with the lineup of Modern Warfare 2-branded controllers and accessories released by Mad Catz last year, with their first-party price and less-than-first-party features. So, it's with something between hesitancy and mild interest that we tell you the controller company will continue the relationship with officially branded Call of Duty: Black Ops peripherals.

The press release doesn't go into specifics but, considering the game's milieu, we're hoping for a wireless Berlin Wall you can smash apart at the end and then sell parts of to unsuspecting tourists.

But it'll probably just be controllers and mice.

Well, science, you've really done it this time. We've had to tighten our belts to notches unknown in light of these tough economic times, but we won't be able to resist importing Tomy's Japanese line of Mario Kart remote-controlled cars. Now, this isn't exactly a brand new idea, but Tomy's toys don't just drive around -- they also use power-ups and shoot virtual shells and bananas at one another.

Racers get periodic power-ups, which appear on an LED display on the controller. Each car comes equipped with infrared sensors capable of detecting when they've been hit with a weapon, which causes them to rumble and slow down. Each car will run you 2730 yen (around $30), but your makeshift replica of Bowser's Castle Circuit could cost around $600, depending on how much you invest in the pyrotechnics.

[Thanks, Yogesh]

Grab your bomber jackets, folks. On June 2, Snoopy: Flying Ace soars to the Xbox Live Arcade for 800 ($10), and if you recall from our previous hands-on experience with the game, it's something we're looking forward to. In Snoopy: Flying Ace, players can take on the role of the famous Peanuts crew or use their own Avatar to pilot fully customizable aircraft.

The part we're most excited about? Outmaneuvering the competition online with graceful tricks reminiscent of the original Xbox gem Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge. We look forward to shooting you out of the sky.

Just as the story of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is being told in two movies, EA and Warner Bros. announced two game adaptations of said movies. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1, the game, will be released this fall on, well, most of our Muggle gaming devices --PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PC, and mobile.

According to EA's announcement, players can expect a different, darker experience with the first Deathly Hallows game. "On the run with a horde of merciless enemies on their tail, players will find themselves in unknown territory, far from the safety of the school grounds, fighting for survival at every turn."

Just for fun, developer EA Bright Light has thrown monsters from the previous films in with all the Death Eaters and Snatchers (no, not those) Harry has to deal with. And don't forget the thrill of controlling a slightly older Daniel Radcliffe avatar than in the last game.
