The "official" Ubisoft online store, UBIShop, is featuring the Collector's Edition of Splinter Cell: Conviction on sale for 50 percent off. That means Mr. Fisher's face-breaking-(via urinal)-adventure can infiltrate your Xbox 360 for $35 -- for an unspecified limited time.

The Collector's Edition is bundled with USB drive, art book, decals, comic book and other random doohickeys. We're following up with Ubisoft to find up when it'll put two in the back of this sale's skull.

Today, 505 Games' Euphoria-powered Backbreaker hits the retail gridiron, and above you'll find a handy video guide to its many modes. Whether it's a quick exhibition game or compiling an entire season, there are a host of customizable gameplay experiences available to players. And, of course, it wouldn't be a sports game if there weren't pages and pages of stats to pour over.

Following the announcement of Sony Europe's PSP Essentials line, Sony is introducing a line of super-cheap $10 PSP games to North America. The "PSP Favorites" line, launching today, includes first-party hits like LocoRoco 2, Patapon 2, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe and Twisted Metal: Head On; as well as third-party games like Silent HIll: Origins, Justice League Heroes and others. The full launch list of "PSP Favorites" titles is posted after the break.

In addition, four games have been added to the slightly-more-expensive Greatest Hits collection: Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance: Retribution and Secret Agent Clank. Each is priced at $20.

But wait, there's more! Sony has also announced a voucher for three games with the purchase of a PSP Go system from now through March 31. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, LittleBigPlanet and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 are now free with the purchase of a system. With those games costing a combined $80 at retail, that means the PSP Go is basically the same price as a PSP 3000 right now -- at least, if you were going to buy all three of those games.

Sony Online Entertainment plans to launch its "free-to-play" Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures on a non-sentient internet droid near you sometime this autumn. SOE's freemium MMO will be based on Cartoon Network's Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and will feature such adjective-noun couplings as "exciting minigames, dynamic activities, lively social events" along with "thousands of customization options."

If Clone Wars Adventures sounds like Free Realms plus the Star Wars universe, that's because it is. The online game's collection of parsec passing experiences include a droid tower defense game, "droid programming puzzles," speeder bike racing, card battles and other stuff to do not so far in the future in a galaxy far, far away.

Ever since we found out that the mean streets of Pacific City had been ravaged by even meaner mutants in Crackdown 2, we've been curious about from whence said mutants sprung. Our curiosity was satisfied by the second episode in the animated "Pacific City Archives" prequel series, which tells of the exploits of twisted ex-Agency medical researcher Catalina Thorne.

Check out the episode after the jump to see Thorne's fall from grace and how she introduced the mutant virus into the helpless population of Pacific City. If that's not grounds for reaching archvillain status in Crackdown 2, we're not sure what is.

If you could use a bit more cheesy B-movie horror on your PSP, Playlogic's Obscure: The Aftermath may be right up your alley. Sure, the game's reviews could be described as tepid at best -- however, from today's PSN update until June 15, the title will have its price reduced from $30 to $15. If you haven't already had your fill of budget-priced, comedically lo-fi survival horror games, you might want to pick up Aftermath within the next two weeks.
