Is your old man still just a kid at heart? Does he show proficiency for structural design, but lacks the power tool expertise required to actually build said designs? Does he ... like ... platforming games starring adorable, sackcloth protagonists? My, what a coincidence -- Amazon is selling a special Father's Day PS3 bundle which includes a 250 GB PS3 Slim, an HDMI cable, and a game that should fit your Pops' needs quite nicely: LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition.

The bundle sells for $350 (the base price of the console alone), and will go on sale June 12th. We'll wait around for a bundle which is more tailored to our dad's preferences, which is to say, one that includes Def Jam: Icon. Yes, that's how he rolls.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

"I even saw the lights of the Goodyear Blimp, and it read 'click to open the gallery.'"Konami has announced release dates for Def Jam Rapstar, the Def Jam game that is actually about rapping and not about rappers beating one another unconscious. 4mm Games' karaoke title will be released on October 5 in North America, with each game/microphone bundle retailing for $69.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and $59.99 on Wii. The game will be out "the week of November 2, 2010" in Europe.

The company also announced that Primo and Just Blaze will provide background for the game's Freestyle Mode. For less creative types, seven more songs were added to the tracklist, including total classics "Just a Friend," "It Was a Good Day," and, in what is guaranteed to create awkward fun at parties, Salt-n-Pepa's "Push It." Push it real good past the break to see all the additions.

Ah, PlayStation faithful… we meet again! Scott from TikGames-Creat Studios here, with another PlayStation Network announcement to shake up that afternoon (or morning, or evening) slump that you all know too well. We at TikGames-Creat Studios are quite psyched to announce the release of a new Add-On Pack for our much-loved RC racing game, Smash Cars!

4664854734_30045cbd50.jpg

Surely you already know about Smash Cars, our tricked-out RC car racing game, right? Right? With real-time physics simulation and vehicle customization, players twist and turn, grind and gear up, perform aerial tricks and stunts while racking up points, bump into obstacles, blah blah blah. Our new DLC tosses in some great new features to enhance that fast-paced experience.

The new Smash Cars: Virus Run features an all-new online racing mode for up to six players to battle to the finish line. But this time, one randomly selected player quickly becomes the group’s foe! The “infected” car rushes the racetrack with the ability to contaminate other players. When the infected player hits an opponent’s car, the victim joins the effort. And, just to make things even more interesting, we tossed in a new Skate Park at the center of the island, complete with half-pipes and springboards to perfect your trick and stunt skills during the Virus Run mode.

Adding to the tears of joy (or fear) we know you’re all shedding, TikGames-Creat Studios is thrilled to show how we’ve been listening to all of you that have sent countless emails, blog responses, bulletin-board posts and screams from rooftops. We’re including the feature that has been, by far, the most requested for Smash Cars: local two-player split screen! Gamers can now race their mini-cars past angry beach-goers and over boardwalks while playing against friends and family, and show just much better they are than everyone else. The Add-On will be available for download on June 8th in North America for $2.99.

On a serious note, we know that a few of you original Smash Cars owners had some trouble with our online multiplayer mode. We really want to thank all of you for the feedback (some folks were incredibly generous with their time!) and to let you know we indeed have been listening. Available June 8th in North America, a free patch will be available for automatic download for all Smash Cars owners on to improve your online multiplayer experience.

We say this every time, but it will never, ever get old: Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support and feedback. We can’t do what we love without you. And one more thing… be sure to join our Facebook page and follow @CreatStudios on Twitter for updates live from E3, including our just-announced PSN-exclusive title TerRover!

Relic's freemium real-time strategy game, Company of Heroes Online, will launch in North America this Fall, THQ has announced. The adaptation of PC exclusive Company of Heroes was previously announced for South Korea and is currently in beta in the Chinese market.

Company of Heroes Online features a persistent online world and, while being free to play, offers player customization through micro transactions. If you're unfamiliar with the franchise, you might want to check out an earlier version of the acclaimed WWII strategy title on Steam.

Square Enix has unveiled something really weird for WiiWare. Kumanage is a pair of WiiWare games set inside a mysterious, living picture book, full of things you interact with by ... throwing paper bears at them. Couldn't Square Enix come up with something original?

The two different versions of the game appear to take place in two different books, with two different characters as player avatars. According to Andriasang, "Kiina's" volume is about protecting a blue gem from "strange but cute" characters, while "Piina's" volume is about collecting red candy. Kiina's game is subtitled "puzzle" while Piina's game is subtitled "battle," suggesting more fundamental differences.

We'll find out soon enough, as both games will be available in Japan on June 8, and the Japanese teaser site displays an ESRB rating, indicating a North American release is also on the way.

Games Convention Online in Leipzig, Germany will not be open to the public this year, as event organizers decided this week to make it a business forum. A Leipziger Messe spokesperson stated that the "number of registered public exhibitors was insufficient" to satisfy the interest of visitors "whose past experiences bring them with high expectations to Leipzig." Overall, the convention is allegedly "bigger" this year, with 30 companies planning to attend -- three more than last year.

Games Convention Online, which had 43,000 attendees in 2009 during its inaugural year, was Leipzig's way of staying on the gaming map after Europe's über convention moved to Cologne, Germany and became the wildly successful GamesCom. This year's business-only Game Convention Online will be held in July. Members of the public interested in playing games can head over to GamesCom in Cologne when it returns this August.
