Has your propensity for keeping things old school prevented you from getting ahead in the ultra-competitive world of Battlefield: Bad Company 2? Specifically, have you been held back by the M1 Garand rifle's lack of stat-tracking? You won't have to change your ways in order to get the recognition you deserve -- a patch went live for the PS3 version of the game last night (the 360 version is coming soon!) which corrects this oversight, as well as a few other minor multiplayer bugs.

In addition, you'll now get more points for securing team objectives, and will lose more points for killing your fellow team members. We love seeing such strong reinforcements of karmic ideals in our multiplayer shooters. Click past the jump to see the full list of changes included in the update.

[Thanks, Fernando]

Remedy has released a creepy, cryptic video for Alan Wake. So, it's a lot like every Alan Wake video, but it's especially like the Bright Falls prequel series in that it's composed of live-action footage. The only thing that looks unrealistic, really, is the imperiled author's jacket-hoodie combination.

We're impressed by how well the video captures some the thriller's imagery -- such as the blinding flares and the mysterious manuscript pages -- and we suspect it's part of a live-action commercial (much like those made for Microsoft's Halo franchise) or another web short. We'll be sure to bring you more information next week.

If you just can't deal with Zelda as a side-scroller, good news: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has been remade in 3D! Credit goes to one Michael A. Johnston, who designed this fan remake as a Unity-based game that you can play right in your browser. Zelda II FPS is an impressive feat, combining authentic 8-bit textures with brand new 3D models of all the creatures and environments.

It's also freaking impossible. Even the once docile slime enemies are now dangerous, since you can't tell when there are three of them right behind you. Enjoy being murdered repeatedly by weak enemies, for now, before Nintendo catches wind of this project -- which it will, now that people like us are telling everybody -- and likely shuts it down. Sorry!
