The latest trailer for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days displays a new facet of morally dubious protagonist James Seth Lynch -- a side who cares less about the theft of other people's fungible assets, and more about the protection of his special ladyfriend. We would almost call it heartwarming, if said protection didn't involve pan-frying a Shanghai police officer's face. Don't worry, you squeamish so-and-so -- that part gets censored in the trailer posted above.

Check it out, provided you're not at work. This video is as profane as it is stylish, which is really saying something, because it's stylish as hell.Kane & Lynch 2 trailer shows the softer side of Lynch

Astro Gaming wants you to play Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker the right way: with a headset larger than a PSP and almost as expensive. The company has unveiled a special Peace Walker version of its A30 headset, featuring Peace Walker imagery on the earphones. It has the same cross-platform compatibility as the traditional A30, and the same ability to swap out the graphics.

If you want the sides of your head to bear the Peace Walker logo (and if you also want to hear sounds and stuff), you can pick one of these up for $150. You can also add $20 and get a downloadable copy of the game, which is probably something you want, considering that you're hypothetically going to drop crazy bucks on a headset with its name on it.

Gather your courage and open the door to this odd, unsettling and slightly scary tale.

Well, that didn't take long. Less than two months after the North American release of the DSi XL, Nintendo has announced a new color variation for the handheld -- and it's one that doesn't make us think of a Cadillac at all! On July 11, the large-screened handheld will be released in Midnight Blue, which appears to be the same as the "blue" color announced for Japan this month. It'll retail for the normal $189.99 price Nintendo has set for the DSi XL in North America.

Though Nintendo doesn't mention it in the press release, the timing of this new handheld coincides perfectly with Dragon Quest IX. The publisher is likely hoping to entice customers to pick up both together -- a Midnight Blue DSi XL at a midnight launch of the game, perhaps?

Activision has just formally announced DJ Hero 2, the sequel to what the NPD identified as the best-selling new IP of 2009 in revenue (thanks to its high price). DJ Hero 2 features the ability to play using two turntables and a microphone, a functionality that almost guarantees the inclusion of Beck's "Where It's At." That's two points in its favor!

New multiplayer modes include "DJ Battles" with songs mixed specifically for that purpose, and the adoption of Guitar Hero 5's brilliant "Party Play" feature, which allows players to jump in and out at any time, even mid-song. To encourage use of these new features (and to encourage purchases from DJ Hero non-owners) the game will be available in a "Party Bundle" with two turntables and a microphone packed in.

DJ Hero 2 will be out this fall, but you can experience a bit of it today, if you have the original. In celebration of the announcement, a mix featuring Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Deadmau5's "Ghosts 'n' Stuff" will be available for free on Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN.

In an attempt to further expand its digital Lego empire, Warner Bros. has partnered with the iconic brick manufacturer and NetDevil to act as the retail distributor for their upcoming family-friendly MMO, Lego Universe. According to the press release announcing the partnership, Warner Bros. will be responsible for distributing the game "outside of LEGO channels." We assume they're talking about Lego Stores, and Legoland, and the underground Lego black market which operates in the shady corners of most metropolitan cities.

Hello! I can’t describe what this feels like: Joe Danger is released exclusively to PlayStation 3 today. This is both the most exciting and nerve wracking day of my life.

Two years ago, three friends and I decided to make a game together. Hello Games formed and sat around playing with a box of toys. One stunt cycle in particular. Firing it out windows and imagining a game featuring that hapless rider.

The truth is, back then we didn’t really know what we were doing. We didn’t know if we could make the game we wanted with just four people. We had worked on some big titles before, games like Burnout and Black, and those were huge teams of hundreds. All of us had been dreaming of making our own games, probably since we could play them. In the end it was just something we had to do.

Last Friday night we all sat up waiting for our first review. It turned out to be a 9.5 on IGN, their highest ever rated PSN game. Then we got a 9 in GameInformer, their Game of the Month (the first ever for PSN). Amazing! Check out some more awesome reviews here and here.

We’ve literally poured everything we have into Joe Danger. It’s been an incredibly difficult two years, but to see people enjoying what we’ve done is the most rewarding feeling in the world. It’s why we’re so excited for the release. This is the game we’ve always wanted to make, for each of us it’s every game we’ve loved crammed into one innovative and tight package. I thought I’d let the others members of Hello Games describe what they love about the game.

Grant: “I’m the sole Artist and I designed most of the levels for Joe Danger. Christmas ‘92 I got Sonic, and played it straight ‘til Christmas ‘93. I wanted to create levels with that crazy feeling of speed, those sudden leaps of faith and the fluid feeling when you are in the zone. You might be on a Bike, but for me Joe is a platformer at heart. Just one at 200mph.”

David: “I’m the Gameplay guy on Joe Danger. Before I had my C64 and California Games, I was Pinball obsessed. I’ll basically do anything for a multiplier. Tony Hawks Pro Skater and Jet Set Radio were huge for me at Uni when I was learning to skate. It’s all about that extreme tension when you’ve built up some huge score Combo, and just one mistake will wipe it all out in an instant. Joe Danger is fast and frantic, but really it’s all about highscores for me.”

Ryan: “I’m the main technical dude at Hello Games. I’m that guy who loves nothing but racing games, speed-runs, time attacks. Excitebike, Trackmania, Crazy Taxi and Burnout have been big games to me and I guess that’s rubbed off. Joe Danger is never anything but fast, whether you’re trying to grab every coin in Coin Dash, or neck and neck racing for the finish line. It’s all about Boost. Stunts feeds your boost, allowing for even bigger air and crazier Stunts. Boost is that glue between racing, comboing and platforming.”

Once again, Joe Danger is on the PlayStation Store in America later today and we really hope you enjoy it! Spread the word.

You can keep up to date with Hello Games and Joe Danger on our blog, follow us on Twitter or even just send us a mail!

Kerplunk: A Play in One Act

Lights up. We're in a mid-size sedan somewhere near the middle of the country where friends Seth and Frank are road-tripping to an annual combination conference and competition for the best air guitarists, air drummers and karaoke singers: The Ruby Bridge Concertition.
Seth
: [polishing off the last bite of a drive-thru roast beef sandwich] Some guys are just in it to pick up chicks at the bonfire or to meet C-Diddy, but the one thing I really can't wait for?
Frank
: The Concertition?
Seth
: Hell yes, The RB Concertition! Hours and hours of every decent air musician on the planet rocking until their air calluses bleed? Don't mind if I do. I always liked it when they did a bunch of different bands, but the all-Beatles thing last year? Ho-lee shit, that made a believer outta me.
Frank
: Dude, didn't I tell you? I saw a rehearsal for this year's show! If you thought The Beatles thing was sick, wait until you see what they've got this year. All night and all morning you're going to be feasting your fingers on the one ... the only -
Seth
: Tell me!
Frank
: GREEN DAY!
Seth
: [a long pause] ... What, are you f**king with me?
