No matter how you feel about Serious Sam's brand of first-person mayhem, you've got to admit the marketing behind the HD remakes has been brilliant -- and this latest video for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is no different. It's the second promo to feature the "House of Sam," a place where folks can worship His divine shotgun; where those afflicted with Krundle Blindness -- an inability to see things in high-def -- can be be cured. Mostly, it's a place of magic.

Click the play button on the trailer above and allow His divine presence to wash over you. Bathe in polygonal splendor and be healed, brothers and sisters. And remember: never attempt to treat your ailments with skunk meat.

We admit it: This latest trailer for Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 resonates with us in a big, big way. How could we not be on board with a video that shows how nearly every character from the first four books has been transmogrified into Lego form? That's like a sure-fire recipe for nerd ambrosia.

So, Lego Harry's good at flying on brooms, Lego Hermione is good at puzzle-solving and Lego Ron is good at ... being a good friend? We guess?

With the 2010 FIFA World Cup (the video game) now a thing of the past, EA has announced the next iteration in its long-standing soccer series: FIFA Soccer 11. The next FIFA will introduce "Personality+," a feature designed to highlight individual abilities and create a unique identity for each player in the game.
The feature relies on a deep database, which houses grades for each player across 36 attributes and 57 traits. Developer EA Canada will also employ new models and body types, as well as a new passing system, dubbed "Pro Passing."

FIFA 11 will ship this fall for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, Gizmondo, Virtual Boy, ColecoVision and mobile platforms ... Did we miss any?

Major Nelson's latest "Coming Soon" post lists Mass Effect 2's Overlord DLC with a June 15 upload date. Apparently the VI overlord is ready to go online and observe all the E3 festivities next week.

The Overlord DLC was revealed last month and will feature Cmdr. Shepard battling through "five levels set across one story on one planet" -- with a jaunty drive around in the Hammerhead tank. Entering into battle against the virtual intelligence will cost 560 ($7).

Update: June 15 date also confirmed by EA.

Hello, everyone! We’re Enrique Galvez and Adam Milecki fromRockin’ Android. We are a passionate U.S.-based publisher of innovative and independently produced games from Japan. We grew up playing some unforgettable 2D games and it’s our goal to bring Japan’s next generation of retro-style 2D games to your PlayStation 3.

For this post, we’d like to tell you about our outstanding bullet-hell shoot-em-up trilogy, Gundemonium. If you’ve ever played Super Stardust HD, or game series like Gradius and R-Type, you have a good idea of what to expect from the “shoot-em-up” genre. This is retro arcade-style shooting and dodging action, no quarters required, no quarter given. “Bullet-hell” means just what it sounds like, too many bullets on-screen at once to count. Hopefully you’re not susceptible to shell shock.

In the Japanese indie-gaming scene, very few developers are as respected as Platine Dispositif. Their games provide plenty of solid white-knuckle-intense gameplay, and ageless retro-gaming style. If “steampunk,” alchemy, and dodging unhealthy doses of flying lead (while dishing plenty back out) sounds good to you, Gundemonium Collection has got you covered. Bullet-hell shoot-em-up fans, don’t blink. It’s time to take notice. Alchemical mayhem isn’t all these games have going for them, not by a long shot. The beauty and ferocity of the Gundemonium games is not-to-be-missed in both its mythology and aesthetic. Bullet-hell shoot-em-ups with a deep storyline?! It’s true, and with Rockin’ Android’s meticulous translation, you’ll be sucked in immediately. With the dazzling audiovisual prowess and innovative gameplay those in-the-know have come to expect from Platine Dispositif, you won’t want to leave.

Gundemonium ReCollection is the first game in the Gundemonium trilogy. Its galvanized and finely tuned side-scrolling bullet-hell shoot-em-up gameplay sets it well above most other games in the genre. There are multiple playable characters, expertly crafted enemies and bullet patterns, a risk-and-reward bullet “Friction” system, a “Demonic Shift” ability that’s not for the faint of heart, and much more.

GundeadliGne is the second game in the Gundemonium trilogy. It’s a second extra-strength dosage of the kind of pandemonium found in Gundemonium ReCollection, but with a dramatically game-altering “Flip Turn” ability. It’s surprising how freeing it is. If you’re tired of getting flanked in other shoot-em-ups, now you can turn the tables and get your revenge. GundeadliGne also supports two-player cooperative play, so a friend can join the action and cover your six.

Hitogata Happa is the third game in the Gundemonium trilogy. It combines the bullet-hell shoot-em-up chaos found in the first two games with side-scrolling vertical action. You’ll be taking control of an array of deadly self-destructive flying marionettes each with its own game-changing abilities. You’ll have to decide which to use, when they’ll fight on, and when it’s time for them to make the ultimate crash-and-burn sacrifice.

Rockin’ Android and Sony Online Entertainment are proud to bring the crown jewel of Platine Dispositif to you, the Gundemonium trilogy. Gundemonium Collection ($14.99 USD) includes all three Gundemonium games, Gundemonium ReCollection, GundeadliGne, and Hitogata Happa. The three games will also be available separately ($5.99 USD each).

We’re excited to bring the Gundemonium Collection to you. There hasn’t been anything quite like these games in the US, and that’s about to change.

Browser game developer Quick Hit, Inc. has announced that it has secured the rights to use NFL teams, logos, uniforms and all other trademarks associated with the league during the next "season" of its flagship online sports title, QuickHit Football. The game will also feature current NFL coaches and players, as well as legends, like Barry Sanders.

When the license goes into effect this fall, users will be able to play through a season or go head-to-head using their favorite professional teams and will have the ability to customize the rosters and sign new -- and old -- players using Coaching Points they've accrued over their careers. You can check out the current version of QuickHit for free on the game's official site.

Clarifying that Quick Hit's deal does not violate EA Sports' exclusivity agreement with the NFL, an EA representative told Joystiq that "the exclusivity agreements we have with the NFL and NFLPA have always been specific to football simulations on video game consoles."

Hopefully 2K will get this message and start working on one of those electric, vibrating football board games.
