Excited about Crysis 2 but can't wait until the game arrives later this year? You could probably don a Nano Muscle Suit and spend the summer looking like a psychotic person -- or you could go over to the MyCrysis community page and sign up for an account, granting you a chance at early access to the beta. "What beta?" you say? Yep, turns out that Crytek is working on giving fans early access to its upcoming sequel.

Details are slim right now, with Crytek only saying that "early registrations" to the soon-to-be relaunched community site "will be tracked, and our first wave of users will have a chance to win a key as and when the Crysis 2 beta takes place." Presumably that's just PC users for now, but we've reached out to Crytek for clarification all the same. The relaunch has yet to take place, but is promised to be "coming soon" according to the game's Facebook page. And hey, that personal Nano Muscle Suit might come in handy for hitting refresh in your browser window really, really fast.

Happy Saturday, PlayStation.Blog readers! The pre-E3 excitement is building as we reveal new details about Dead Nation, MotorStorm Apocalypse, inFAMOUS 2, Killzone 3, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, LittleBigPlanet 2, PixelJunk Shooter 2, stereoscopic 3D gaming, and more news about our lineup of great PS3 and PSP games.

And one game I know everyone is anxious to hear more about is Gran Turismo 5.

Last night, GameTrailers and Spike TV unveiled the latest Gran Turismo 5 trailer in their hour-long pre-E3 special. The trailer features some brand new footage of the game’s gorgeous cars and detailed, realistic tracks. Even if you didn’t catch it, you’re in for a treat because here is the full version of the trailer, featuring a retrospective of Gran Turismo 1 through GT4 and all-new footage of Gran Turismo 5.

If you’ve been a fan of Gran Turismo, you may recognize some of that classic footage from back in the day. Since it first released on PSone, Gran Turismo helped to revolutionize the racing genre of video games, and this year, Gran Turismo 5 will set the bar even higher as the most realistic and comprehensive racing experience — and it’s exclusive to the PS3.

Stay tuned to the PlayStation.Blog and the official Gran Turismo website for the latest information on GT5 in the coming weeks.

At last, 2K Games has unleashed the debut trailer for 2K Marin's upcoming FPS relaunch of the XCOM franchise. Though the suburban, 1950s aesthetic smacks familiar of the underwater metropolis of BioShock, the extraterrestrial enemies you'll be tasked with eradicating look like no aliens you've ever had to fight off before. Okay, maybe if you're Spider-Man, you'll find yourself on familiar ground. Everyone else is screwed.

Check out the trailer after the jump, and imagine how unpleasant it must be to have one of these gelatinous, violent blobs force feed themselves to you. That cannot be delicious. Or sanitary.

We're approaching charity gaming marathon season, in which kind-hearted folks spend their hard-earned vacation days playing a series of video games without respite or pause. The Mario Marathon guys are set to kick off their franchise playthrough in a little under two weeks -- before that, though, the prolific, altruistic team at TheSpeedGamers is attempting a similar feat: They're currently playing through every single Mario game while collecting donations for ACT Today, a group which helps families pay for the care and treatment of their autistic children.

Maybe we weren't explicit enough in the preceding paragraph: They are playing every Mario game. Every one of them. At the time of this writing, they're playing Mario Kart 64. Monday morning, they're going to play Hotel Mario. When given the choice between going big or going home, the folks at TheSpeedGamers clearly chose the former.

We don't know what extremely gracious act of charity and selflessness was committed somewhere in the universe to make this beautiful Scott Pilgrim vs. The World game karmically possible, but whoever you are out there committing Mother Theresa-level good deeds, thank you.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you. Even if the actual game somehow ends up being less than Sex Bob-omberiffic, just a trailer like this, with its Amanaguchi chiptunes and samurai fighting and epic pixelated cutscenes and guitar minigames (!) brings more light and joy into our world than we probably deserve. We don't know what you did, but it must have been really great, because the trailer after the break will make a lot of people very happy.
