Remember last year at E3, when there was a new trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and it was basically the coolest thing with lightsabers since Vader fought Luke on Bespin? Turns out Bioware has topped themselves this year with a brand new cinematic, featuring a badass Republic soldier, a scarred-up Sith, and the hottest Jedi we've seen battling it out on Alderaan.
Apparently there's also a game of some kind associated with these cinematics. We'd go down to the E3 show floor and check it out, but we're too busy watching this cinematic again.
One of the Square Enix's most beloved SNES franchises has found a new home: the iPhone. No other details were offered for Secret of Mana other than a very vague release: 2010. Hopefully, this mobile port will feature the some of the enhancements that made Final Fantasy on Apple's handheld so worthwhile.

The Nintendo 3DS, just revealed by Nintendo, looks like it's already home to an enviable, rich library. But beyond a new Kid Icarus, a new Pilotwings and a new Nintendogs, what can 3DS owners look forward to? More »
Vanquish was introduced to us at Sega's pre-E3 event as Shinji Mikami's take on Gears of War, and though I only got to play through one brief battle, that's an apt description. The game combines the frantic over-the-top action that Platinum Games is known for thanks to titles like Bayonetta and MadWorld, and brings it into the setting of a high-tech, cover-based third person shooter. The result, as you can imagine, is pretty satisfying.
The basic scenario is a future with the world's last two superpowers, Russia and the US, fighting on an American space station designed to harness the energy of the sun (after all of the Earth's resources have already been depleted). Sam Gideon is the game's hero, and it's his job to go into the station with US troops and save the day. Fortunately, he's outfitted with a power suit that allows for all sorts of technological and acrobatic wizardry.

Finally! Cross-game chat is coming to the PlayStation Network! After what seems like years of demand, Sony has announced cross-game chat, which allows PSN members to talk to each other, even while playing different games. However, the oft-demanded feature does come with one large caveat: chats can only be initiated by PlayStation Plus members.
PlayStation Plus members will be able to send invites to any member of the PlayStation Network, free or paid. Up to four PSN members can be in a party chat, however at least one participant must be a member of PSN+. The chat will discontinue if all paying members disconnect.
While some may be disappointed that such a hotly demanded feature is closed behind a pay wall, the service is still technically available to free members. Xbox Live, on the other hand, does not enable a similar feature for non-paying Xbox Live members. So long as you're popular and have friends that pay for PlayStation Plus, you should be able cross-game chat and keep your free ride, too.
Portal 2 made its E3 debut ... at Sony's press conference! Valve's perspective-bending puzzle sequel certainly looks far more ambitious than its predecessor, although its 2011 date has us quite sad. Grab some cake, and watch!
