Hello there, readers. Welcome to day two (or, depending on how you look at it, day three) of E3 2010. We've another big day ahead of us, but before we begin, let's look back at what happened yesterday. More »
Press "Move" to Jason? While the exact motion controls for hailing your wandering son remain unknown, Sony managing producer Petro Piaseckyj confirmed that a PlayStation Move patch for Heavy Rain -- the entire game reworked with Move commands -- will be added at an unspecified date this fall. Piaseckyj could not confirm if the patch would be a free update or a paid add-on; nor did he know if the PlayStation Move control option would be implemented into a future version of the standard retail game or sold separately as, say, the "Move Edition."
"There's definitely a learning curve to the Move," Piaseckyj warned, explaining that two difficulty levels of Move controls would be available in the Heavy Rain update. In practice, when playing the old demo with the new Move controls (the harder setting) at Sony's E3 booth, Heavy Rain is more intuitive than when played with the DualShock 3. There are still some awkward and confusing combinations of button holds and presses, coupled with punishingly specific hand swipes or pushing motions, but overall Move offers a simplified yet more engaging means of untangling the mystery of the Origami Killer.

All the bombastic trailers, third-person shooters and celebrity actors in the world couldn't stop this from being my most anticipated game of 2010. More »

I highly recommend seeing Disney's latest Toy Story film at an E3 preview, where you can have all the candy, popcorn, milkshakes, Yoohoo brand chocolate drink, and vodka Jell-O shots you can handle. And I can handle a lot. More »
With the slim details we have about Ubisoft and Eric Chahi's "Project Dust," we're happy for anything that might shed a little light on the spring downloadable release. In a Q&A Ubisoft released, Chahi compares his game to Populous, the strategy classic that casts players as a deity caring for a tribe of people through divine intervention. In the as-yet-untitled "Dust," the tribe of humans live on a version of Earth ravaged by an extreme number of natural disasters, disasters the player can harness to help the people of Dust expand and migrate.
Lest you think you've got "Dust" all figured out, Chahi lists influences on the game ranging from a visit to Vanuatu's Yasur crater to Godfrey Reggio's film Koyaanisqatsi. So yeah, we're still a little more in the dark than we'd like, but we can't wait to find out more.
Sneaky Sony! There was one announcement from the camp that managed to bypass the madness of Sony's E3 keynote today: the Sony Surround System for PS3. Featuring a solitary sound bar, this all-in-one surround sound solution utilizes Sony's S-Force PRO Front Surround Sound and will launch worldwide this fall with a suggested retail price of $199 / €199 / ¥19,800. The device comes with two different audio inputs: one analog and one optical -- sorry, no HDMI here.
Feel free to gawk at its girth in our gallery of images below.

One advantage of the 3DS having similar horsepower but a smaller screen than the Wii is that you can get away with porting stuff you couldn't otherwise on the home console. Like Street Fighter IV. More »
To be more specific, it's from the WWE All-Stars booth at E3. But you probably didn't need that additional information. You only need to know that it's the greatest thing we've ever seen. When our bones are full of fatigue from braving the crowds of the E3 show floor, we need only to look towards it, like a beacon of hope, capable of rejuvenating our spirits in unprecedented ways. Thank you, WWE All-Stars booth. We do not deserve you.

A night of live music from artists like Usher, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Maynard James Keenan, Eminem, and more turns slightly awkward as Activision's lavish E3 2010 production confuses as much as it astounds. More »
War returns to Gallia once again when Valkyria Chronicles 2 launches its retail assault on North America on August 31, 2010. The game will launch on UMD and PlayStation Store simultaneously. From what we've seen at E3 2010, despite the scaled-down portable presentation, the game appears to be a worthy successor to the excellent (and accessible) Japanese strategy role-playing game.
I think that’s just a tad too high for a Nintendo portable. I can’t imagine Nintendo selling the 3DS at that price. Let’s hope this is speculation that proves to be far wrong. Thanks to AusGamer for the heads up.
Interplay has launched a teaser site for Fallout Online, presumably the proper title for Project V13 from Chris Taylor, designer of the original Fallout (with help from Masthead Studios). This comes in the wake of drawn-out legal action between Interplay and Bethesda over the rights to the Fallout IP, and news in January that a beta for the V13 title would be coming in 2012.
The site offers a sign-up form for the Fallout Online mailing list and an option to be informed when registration for the open beta begins. We're contacting Interplay for more on the now-named game and hope to hear back before we all need to start carrying Rad Away.

Japanese studio feelplus has been busy lately, with a New More Heroes port, Ninety-Nine Nights II and the recently revealed Necromachina. Now, we get a look at its latest project, the third-person actioner Mindjack, coming to 360 and PS3 in October from Square-Enix. As a "Mind Hacker" you'll battle foes by possessing enemies, vehicles, even innocent bystanders to use as your meat puppets.
We'll have more for you on the game soon, but, for now, would you settle for some screens?

I realise that Sucker Punch had to change the look of Infamous' Cole. But did they really need to change it to this? Guy looks like he should be dealing cocaine out the back of an Ibiza club, circa 1997. More »
We know it's hard for you to stay excited about the new Zelda when the remake of the best Zelda was just teased -- nevertheless, the debut gameplay trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is waiting for you just past the jump. Check out the Twilight Princess-meets-Wind Waker aesthetics, and witness some of the new tools of Link's trade. Which is, of course, Ganon-slaying.
You can look forward to the write-up of our hands-on time with Skyward Sword later this week.
The hypnotic charms of Pac-Man: Championship Edition are being packed into a downloadable Mini for PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3. According to a Namco representative, the Mini should become available sometime this fall. Barring a delay, it would arrive alongside the new game in the series, Pac-Man: Championship Edition DX, which is slated for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
We got a chance to play the PSP game at a Pac-Man 30th Anniversary event in Los Angeles and found it to be identical to the XBLA version, right down to the in-game trophies. The d-pad certainly gives this handheld version the edge, and the colorful visuals look great on the PSP's screen. It should be a perfect distraction during your dull train commute, provided you don't mind missing your stop. And the next one. And the next one. And just one more.
