If you woke up as a clone of a man betrayed and killed, and were in a position to pick up a lightsaber and use it, would you? This guy is. More »
Revealed during today's Konami press conference, NeverDead looks like something that might have originated from the makers of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta -- but it's actually the work of UK-based Rebellion, the studio most recently responsible for Aliens vs. Predator. Its star is an immortal, gun-toting, wise-cracking gunslinger with the unusual ability to literally pull himself together if dismembered.
The crazy concept -- and, in fact, the entire game design -- comes from the mind of Shinta Nojiri, a veteran Konami designer and the director of the Metal Gear Ac!d titles. We'd say he's lost his head, but Nojiri would probably find it, pop it back on and glare at us disapprovingly. Instead, we'll just point you toward the trailer after the break.

I'm not sure whether this is an upcoming game or a technical demo, but...actually, it's Animal Crossing, of course this will eventually show up on the Nintendo 3DS. More »
Nintendo has released the specs for the 3DS, including the stuff we couldn't tell from looking at the thing, like screen resolution and weight. The 3.02-inch bottom screen has a 320x240 pixel resolution, a small bump over the DS's 256x192 resolution. The larger (3.53-inch) top screen has an 800x240 resolution, though it's really two 400x240 images superimposed over one another for the 3D effect.
The system supports WPA and WPA2 encryption for its wireless connection, though, like the DSi, it's likely that these protocols will be supported only by new games designed to do so, and not for legacy DS games. As for the physical details, Nintendo notes that the design is not final, so things like battery life and the final appearance are yet to be determined. We were told by Nintendo reps that the colors for the systems were also not final, so don't be heartbroken if you can't get that metallic blue color.

I have been trying to tell you that Konami's press conference was wacky. But if my liveblog didn't convince you....if a photo didn't convince you... then this video will. I guarantee it. More »
click to see Kirby's Epic ScreenshotsThough Nintendo announced games in all its major franchises simultaneously, it's not playing it safe within those franchises. Kirby's Epic Yarn, for example, is still a cutesy side-scroller, like other Kirby games, but it presents a new art style that seems pretty far out for such a mainstream game, one that has charmed me to an uncomfortable degree. The game also adds a new gameplay gimmick that, while it's not as drastic a change as Canvas Curse, still alters the basics of Kirby. And, like every new 2D platformer announced at E3, it has co-op.
Apparently devoid of geriatric spy guys, Metal Gear Solid: Rising sees the once-loathed Raiden liberating glowing cyber-spines from felled foes. And that's cool and all, but did you know that you can cut a guy in half while you're cutting him in half?

That rumor about Ice-T playing a role in Gears of War 3? Totally true. The man himself took the stage at tonight's Gears of War 3 shindig in downtown LA, as indicated by Major Nelson on Twitter (and seen in the picture above, also care of Major's tweet). Apparently, he'll voice a character named Griffin, with Gears creator Cliff Bleszinski mentioning Ice "won't stop telling everyone about his role as Griffin in Gears 3."
What's that, you say? You're just as excited as we are to hear Ice-T's debut gameplay voiceover role? Good! Now get back to reading about E3 2010, won't you?

If you don't mind spoiling the events of the Scott Pilgrim storyline before the movie (keeping in mind that it's all based on existing comics), you'll be able to play out the story in sprite-based brawler form three days before the movie hits.
At the Ubisoft booth displaying Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (look for our impressions soon!), an August 10 release date was posted next to the game demo. It's a timed exclusive for PSN, so you'll have to endure an unspecified number of (evil) days before you can take on Ramona's evil exes.
