... Dr. Wagner! He's a real fan favorite.

The doc bested three other masked men this afternoon in a wrestling ring plunked down on the E3 show floor to "achieve immortality" on the Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes of the Ring game cover. Check out the highlights from the four-man free-for-all in the gallery below.

If you've been a longtime fan of 2K Sports games, you've likely run into the dreaded "2K network is unavailable" screen when trying to go online for a match. During a preview of 2K Sports' latest titles, Joystiq asked whether gamers have seen the last of that hated prompt, to which a 2K Sports representative told us the company is well aware of the server overload and currently working to rectify it.

With the launch of its new titles in each sports series, 2K is preparing a complete server overhaul from the ground up. It'll replace its entire server bed handling online games in the hopes of getting players off the bench and back into the game.

The Entertainment Software Association is hours away from finishing up another E3 and telling the 45,600 attendees (from 90 countries) that they don't have to go home, but they can't stay at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The video game circus returns to the LACC on June 7-9, 2011.

Working off last year's successful template of controlled chaos, this year's show welcomed 300 exhibitors and appeared to bring the expected spectacle on a navigable show floor. We've still got plenty of coverage, so keep an eye on our E3 2010 page for the latest.

The video game industry needs to make up its mind. Some games claim that war is a constantly changing beast, evolving and shaping to the world around it, while other games claim that war never changes. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier straddles the line between these two opposing views. War itself -- or more specifically the conflicts that incite wars -- doesn't change much, but the technology to take out the other guy is constantly evolving.

Before getting our hands on the flooded world of Hydrophobia for the second time at this year's E3, we pushed Dark Energy Digital's Pete Jones to clarify the exclusivity deal his studio has with Microsoft. "We're launching exclusively on 360, just to get that one out of the way -- but there will be a PS3 and a PC version in the fullness of time," Jones told us, confirming a PC release of the game along the way. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell us exactly how long Microsoft's period of exclusivity will last.

"For contractual reasons, I can't exactly say what that time period is," Jones added, also noting that, "Ultimately, there will be disc versions as well. Maybe as a compilation." Hydrophobia has yet to receive a solid release date, but the folks from DED are pushing hard for a release by the end of this summer. That said, if the disc-based release will compile all three games of the planned trilogy, it'll be quite some time before we see it flooding onto store shelves.

So far, I'm not really sure I like Bionic Commando Rearmed 2. Some context: I'm a huge fan of both the original Bionic Commando and its 2008 remake, Bionic Commando Rearmed. They're two of the cleverest, most challenging games around, a real treat for someone that's been playing games for nigh on twenty years.

So why am I unsure of Rearmed 2? Because Fatshark had the audacity to change things -- and if you're a cranky old codger like me, you might be resistant. The rest of you, however, will probably welcome the game with open (bionic) arms.

When it was released last December, PixelJunk Shooter received plaudits for its old school shooting gameplay coupled with modern elemental physics. Also, it’s just plain fun.

As the first PixelJunk game with a story, it’s also the first PixelJunk game with a sequel (as opposed to an “Encore”). Here are producers Deb Mars and Matt Morton with more on what Shooter 2 will bring. HINT: fan-requested feature addressed.
