Next Tuesday, Fat Princess' roster of playable classes will be fattened considerably when the Ninja, Pirate and Giant archetypes (which have been frequently teased over the past year) hit the PSN as part of the "Fat Roles" pack. The expansion, which will cost $4.99, includes the three classes and four new maps, all of which are previewed in the trailer posted after the jump.

If you're strapped for cash, the game is also getting a free update adding four-player couch multiplayer to the game, which should lead to some noisy banter to concern your neighbors. "Put down the girl, stuff that cake in her mouth, and then let's kill this priest!"

Holy shit awesome.
Looks like I'll have to redownload Fat Princess.

"Calling all Cars! Calling all Cars! Robbery in progress at the Old National Bank on 3rd and Vine. Three suspects, armed and extremely dangerous. Hostages taken. Please respond. Also, why not stop by Burger King for an order of juicy, fall-off-the-bone short ribs, available for a limited time this Summer. Ribs are filling and and extremely delicious, and go great with an order of Burger King's beloved fresh french fries. Repeat, delicious with fresh french fries."

An APB beta participant recently noticed a "VOIP Premium" option in his account management page, which promises to keep ads off of the in-game chat program in exchange for real-life monies. Developer Realtime Worlds was quick to clarify the terms of these ads -- they'll only play when traveling between Districts, and only if the player hasn't heard an advertisement in the last three hours. Sadly, surreal broadcasts like the one presented in the above paragraph will never come to fruition.

After shutting down Phoenix Online Studios' lovingly crafted King's Quest fan project due to a licensing conflict back in February, it seems Activision has reconsidered its position. According to the indie developer's blog, Activision has rescinded its cease and desist, and has granted the studio a non-commercial license to release the game.

On July 10, Phoenix will release Chapter One of its 3D tribute to Roberta Williams' beloved adventure franchise, titled The Silver Lining. Thanks to Activision's demands, the game will be released for free. Click past the jump to see the title's (re)announcement trailer, or check out our impressions of an early demo of the game we checked out earlier this year.

Now, I don’t know that Amazon has any idea what 3DS games are going to cost. They could be using placeholder prices for now, and matching up those amounts with DS titles. I don’t know why, but I’m thinking that 3DS titles are going to cost more than your average DS game. [...]

The Dragon Quest IX setup at E3 wasn’t getting all that much attention. Should Nintendo/Square-Enix be worried about that? I honestly don’t think it’s a big deal. A lot of people don’t go hands-on with RPGs at E3 because it makes little to no sense. To demo an RPG that has [...]

More from Twisted Pixel already? The digitally prolific studio that brought us The Maw and 'Splosion Man (in the same year, no less) -- not to mention the still-in-development Comic Jumper -- has quietly announced "a contract with Turbine to help them build an awesome new MMO intended for consoles." Yep, for consoles. Unfortunately, the developer seems to be keeping mum on more details, saying, "If you want more than that, you'll have to take it up with Turbine, because we can't spill the beans on their top-secret game."

The only other info that we could glean from TP's curious message is that the work done was contractual (as the developer has done in the past with both Blitz: The League 2 and NBA Ballers: Chosen One), and that it's already been completed. Further, the "fun project" is referred to in the past-tense, with the developer only allowing "We can't wait to play it ourselves when it's released." We might say we are too, if only we had any idea at all of what it could be.

Our friends at Massively confirmed last September that, at the time, Turbine had been working on a console MMO for "a year and a half," so we could be hearing more about this super secret project sooner than later.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… Ultimately it will depend on what type of gameplay you prefer, but in all honesty, you can’t really go wrong with either release as both have plenty of fun to offer you for your 1,000 Wii Points.
