#wii Creators of games for the Nintendo Wii have often demanded of their players a controller-waggling vigor that has them jostling the Wii Remote like a man in rush to shake ketchup from a glass bottle. Enough of that. More »

Following its various stages of development, the Team Fortress 2 Engineer update is complete and its final addition has been revealed: The Gunslinger. It's a glove that gives the Engineer +25 extra health, a new combo attack and the ability to drop a mini-sentry, which Engies can build much faster than normal sentries, and for less metal. The update will automatically be applied the next time you boot up the game.

Aside from all of the Engineer upgrades, there are also three new maps to wage war on: Thunder Mountain, Hightower and Upward. Now go, go kill all of those evil [insert enemy team color here]s!

Manveer Heir isn't just our winner of the coolest name for a game designer ever award, he's also just been hired by BioWare Montreal as a senior level designer for the Mass Effect franchise. Heir stepped down from his lead designer role at Activision-owned Raven Software in mid-June and has been on a mini-hiatus since then, only to announce yesterday -- alongside another big BioWare reveal -- that he would be heading up to Montreal.

Heir ... aired his feelings about the change, tweeting, "I'm a big fan of the Mass Effect series, so to get a chance to join the team and help build an amazing game is such a tremendous privilege." When Twitter followers pestered him for specifics, he declined to offer more details, responding, "I cannot elaborate beyond Mass Effect franchise."

Next up for the franchise is supposedly that "far reaching" Mass Effect ... thing, which has been teased to arrive early next year.

Finally, a reason to do the everyday crap you don't want to do. You know, things like washing the dog, cleaning your apartment and pulling over when the cop behind you hits the siren.

Well, at least some of those work perfectly with Epic Win, an upcoming iPhone app that turns your to-do list into a role-playing game. By completing tasks in the real world, you gain experience points in the game that you can then use to level up your character. If that isn't incentive enough to drive little Timmy to soccer practice, we don't know what is.

In the spirit of the game, here's your first to-do item: jump past the break and watch the introductory video for Epic Win. It's about the easiest boss fight you'll undertake today -- that is, unless you actually fight your boss. We hear he's a bit of a weakling.

You won't have to search the ocean or a subterranean dungeon for this treasure! Atlus announced that copies of Etrian Odyssey 3: The Drowned City pre-ordered from certain retailers will include "Forests of Eternity," a 60-page artbook. The full-color book includes character and background artwork not only from The Drowned City, but from the previous Etrian Odysseys as well!

But why tell you about it when we can show you? Atlus posted an excerpt of the book for you to page through. "Beware!" it notes. "The artwork and designs contained in this book may reveal more than you wish to know of Etrian Odyssey III!" You'd be better off avoiding the preview, then, if you've got a spoiler allergy.

Don't worry about how Vimeo user Surfap filmed a Super Mario Bros. speedrun done entirely in graffiti. The description says it was "black magic" and that's good enough for us. As Tiny Cartridge points out, a computer was probably involved, but where's the fun in that? Just enjoy the show.

Clear your holiday schedules, folks. We know there are a bunch of high-profile releases you're planning on tucking into as the year concludes, but Ubisoft's recently revealed "Games for Everyone" collection probably won't leave you much time to play all that junk. Pretending to own a resort or work as a veterinarian or design clothes is taxing stuff, you know.

Click past the jump to see the full list of Imagine and Petz titles set to drop later this year, then spend the rest of the day thinking about what order you'll be playing them in. We're thinking about doing Style Lab Fashion Design first, then making the jump to Imagine Fashion Stylist. You know, so we can learn the basics before going totally commercial.
