Scans of a promotional pamphlet for Pokémon Black and White, acquired by Serebii.net, have revealed a few new features for game and firsts for the franchise. One such feature, which is becoming increasingly popular in Japanese handheld RPGs, is a "pass by" mode. When Pokémon Black and White players with dormant DSs come into proximity with each other, their handhelds will connect, providing both players with heretofore unannounced bonuses.

Another, slightly more ambitious feature, is a video chat function that players unlock while playing through the game's campaign. After gaining access to the "Live Caster" tool, two players using a DSi or 3DS can participate in a video chat over Wi-Fi. The tool also lets four players perform video chat conferences over local wireless connections. We suggest reading that last sentence again, turning off your computer and going to sit in a dark room for a while until you can fully contemplate its ridiculousness.

Man, I loved my NES Advantage. This sucker brings back a lot of memories. I even remember the first game I played using that controller. I spent hours and hours trying to make it through a full week in Paperboy. That accomplishment wouldn’t happen until many years later, but that didn’t [...]

Originally set for release on August 9, Slang's Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes of the Ring has been delayed until October 12, 2010 on PS3, Xbox, Wii and DSiWare, with the PSP version launching at an unspecified later date. While additional development time was cited as one reason for the delay, the announcement primarily frames the release bump as a marketing strategy.

"Based on the positive feedback we received at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo we decided to push the launch of Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes del Ring closer to the upcoming holiday shopping season," Slang president Abraham Batista said. "The additional time provides us with several key benefits, including the ability to market to a larger audience, build greater street buzz with consumers and continue the development cycle."

Of course, given the October release date, we believe the "holiday shopping season" to which Batista refers is Halloween. What better time for a game about masked men?

FlingSmash had been sitting pretty with a $30 pricetag for awhile there. Now we’re seeing that both Amazon and GameStop have raised their price to $50. I surely hope this is a mistake, as $30 seemed like the perfect price for what FlingSmash had to offer. These prices aren’t official yet, but [...]

Let us introduce ourselves and our little project Landit Bandit which will be “landing” on the PlayStation Store on July 13th for $9.99.

We are five gamers, commonly known as “The Bearded Ladies,” that have been lucky enough (or mad enough!) to live our dream of making a game for the PS3. We never gave the low odds of success a second thought — and that’s just as good as we (two programmers from the auto industry, a janitor, a liquor store salesman, an expedition leader from Nepal) would never have made a PS3 game. We’ve included a picture so you know what you are dealing with here.

The game, Landit Bandit, is a wacky 3D helicopter adventure that pays homage to several old classics such as Ugh! and Crazy Taxi. The controls are intuitive and resemble Moonlander in 3D, but are deep enough to have you playing for hours to master them. The game is aimed at anyone that enjoys flight games or physics-based games in general, or anyone that wants to play something different…’cause we are confident you have not played anything like this before.

One of our goals was to vary the way the game is played, but keep the flight basics at the core of each level. We achieved this by both using the physics of the surroundings and even more by the fact that you gain abilities by picking up “wing men.” The wing men alter the ways you can control your helicopter and give you new opportunities to shave seconds of that online high score.

Since we are big fans of split-screen gaming, Landit Bandit features both drop-in co-op as well as six different split-screen duels.

Check out the preview trailer, read a full review, and go to www.landitbandit.com for more info.

It appears Warner Bros. went on a little domain-shopping spree for its Batman: Arkham Asylum sequel. Domain digger Superannuation has unearthed over a dozen new registrations by the publisher that reference the Dark Knight or events in the first Arkham Asylum game.

Several of the domain names suggest a range of possible "Arkham" titles for the sequel, including: Arkham City, New Arkham, Rise of Arkham and City of Arkham. There's also one domain that references Warden Sharp and his run for mayor. Avoiding spoilers, if you completed the "Spirit of Arkham" quest line in the first critically acclaimed game, it would seem to be a possible springboard for events in the sequel. We've listed all the new domain names after the break.
