PC gamers, have you been hiding in your foxhole, waiting for communications from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 command regarding the new DLC mode, Onslaught? Well buck up, soldier -- we've got good news. It's headed your way. Confirmation comes courtesy of PC Gamer, who regrettably weren't able to secure intel regarding potential price point and date of availability for the co-op mode.

Onslaught adds objective-based gameplay to four maps: Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes, and Nelson Bay. Here, up to a squad of four players must secure objective points and battle waves of CPU-controlled enemies. Onslaught mode is currently available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for 800 Microsoft Points and $9.99, respectively.

Though Realtime Worlds' pseudo-MMO crime sim APB is still relatively hot off the presses, it doesn't look like the developer plans on letting the title languish. The game's official site was recently updated with a blog post outlining the studio's post-launch plans for the title -- a laundry list which includes lofty objectives such as enacting stronger countermeasures against cheaters and campers, and improving the handling of the game's guns and automobiles.

Check out APB's blog to see all the changes Realtime Worlds hopes to implement. We'd personally like to see the addition of a third faction: Bystanders. Think about it! You wouldn't do any actual fighting, but rather, would have to conduct your mundane day-to-day business while avoiding everyone else's scuffles. Also, you can't make any of your own clothes. You shop at the Gap, just like all the other Bystanders.

Peter Molyneux brought out the big guns to impress the crowd at the TEDGlobal conference: a child stomping on a snail. Okay, maybe it's more impressive when you learn that the child was Milo from Milo & Kate, Molyneux's Kinect-based AI game, and the decision to squash the mollusk was split between demonstrator Dmitri and Milo himself.

According to Wired UK's writeup of the talk, Milo encountered snails on a walk, and asked the demonstrator if he should step on it. When Dmitri encouraged him, Milo ended the poor e-creature's e-life. Live tweets from @TEDNews note that Milo hesitated before doing so. The demo continued with Milo going home to eat dinner, getting in an argument, and soliciting some words of encouragement from the player.

All of this is significant not because we hate snails, but because this is the first demonstration we've seen of Milo since E3 2009. Molyneux ended the demonstration with the shocking truth that all the world's Milos are going to form a Borg-like hive mind, with the AI data "in the cloud" (as Wired puts it), continually learning from individual interactions. He also revealed a more concrete, game-like narrative for Milo, in which players experience a "tutorial" during which Milo's family moves, with the game opening up afterward to allow you and Milo to explore the new surroundings.

Going from a free, community-driven environment to the closed storefronts on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network calls for some added incentive. Developer IllFonic claims its console version of Nexuiz, which began as an open-source shooter for Windows, Linux and OSX, will be the first downloadable title developed with CryEngine 3. That's quite an upgrade over the Quake 1 engine that once powered the arena-based first-person shooter.

Looking to reap the benefits from Crytek's support and technology -- not to mention Quake Arena Arcade's continued absence -- Illfonic plans to launch Nexuiz simultaneously on PSN and XBLA this winter. According to lead designer Kedhrin Gonzalez, maintaining the collaborative, malleable nature of the original will "definitely" be a goal. "Nexuiz was built by a community and we're bringing that vision to consoles," he said. "But we had to change some things in order to make it more accessible to console players."

Initially, that audience will find some standard multiplayer offerings like Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, wrapped in a fast-paced fragfest not unlike Unreal Tournament III (which supported basic modding on PlayStation 3). We should be able to see how community-created content takes shape when the game is showcased at this year's Penny Arcade Expo, which will take place in Seattle from September 3 until September 5.

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono has been doing the press rounds talking about Super Street Fighter IV lately. The developer is planning to port the game to arcades and Ono implied during a Famitsu interview (via IGN) that any changes for the game's arcade release could make its way back into the console game. "If it's a tuning update similar to the June 15 update, I believe we'd be able to offer it for free," Ono said. "However, if it's the kind of update that adds new moves, it's possible that it could be paid."

Ono said something similar in an interview with the PlayStation community. "If we do make some changes to the arcade version, it is not impossible to apply the same changes to the PS3 version. However, as I can't get down to it yet, I have to ask you to wait for a while." What kind of things would you guys want to see in a patch?
