Capcom has announced that its boisterous brawler, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, will arrive in North America on October 12. Launching simultaneously on Wii and PlayStation 3, Samurai Heroes sees you "picking up the arms of more than a dozen samurai heroes" in 16th century Japan. With so many limbs strewn about, that must have been a pretty horrific time.

Action fans will be keen to see how the game was shaped by Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, and history buffs should be pleased by Sengoku Basara's attentive retelling of all the famous battles between Japan's magical super-generals. Sure, the 200-hit air juggles are an unbelievable embellishment (most historians balk at anything over 147 hits), but if you're looking for a 1:1 combat simulation, try Dynasty Warriors instead.

PlayStation Plus Hulu = A Hulu Plus preview, which will become available to "select" subscribers of Sony's PlayStation Plus program. Posting on the official PlayStation blog, PSN senior director Susan Panico has explained that all Sony subscribers may download the Hulu Plus software as of today and "request an invitation to the exclusive preview." If you're already a member of Hulu Plus (you can request an invitation to subscribe online), you'll be able to access the preview today through your PlayStation Plus account.

Hulu's enhanced streaming service, which provides access to TV shows from ABC, FOX, NBC, ETC, will incur a monthly fee of $9.99 -- even to PlayStation Plus subscribers participating in the sneak peek. It'll become available (and effectively cheaper) to all PS3 owners "in the coming months," Panico said. An Xbox 360 version is slated for launch in "early 2011."

Hi Everyone- Here’s this week’s Digital Comics update.

We have another strong offering from DC Comics this week. The offering is highlighted with a free issue of Zuda’s aquatically themed Azure, and the second issue of last week’s best selling comic, God of War #2.

Also from DC, we also have the four issue mini-series Kingdom Come. Set twenty years into the future it deals with a growing conflict between traditional superheroes (Superman, Wonder Woman et al.), and a growing population of amoral irresponsible new vigilantes.

Ready at Dawn, the Southern Californian developer behind the upcoming God of War: Ghost of Sparta for PSP, has laid off 13 of its employees, a statement on its website confirms. While a source told Joystiq that as many as 50 were let go including contractors, company president Didier Malenfant told us, "The number on the site is accurate, that's why we put it up to make sure stupid rumors don't start flying."

The official statement calls the layoffs "the woes of being independent," saying of the now-former staff, "We simply couldn't keep them on board while one project finishes and another ramps up." Our source said that among the 13 were employees who had been with the studio since its early days, working on titles including Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus. Only four members of the team that worked on the latter remain, we're told.

If your curiosity was piqued by last month's partial list of musicians whose work would appear in some conjoined fashion in the DJ Hero 2 soundtrack, then you're about to be extremely satisfied. Posted after the jump is the full list of all 108 artists who will have their work featured in the upcoming follow-up to FreeStyleGames' mix-mastering simulator.

You know what? In the interest of simplicity, we think it might be best to just point out who's not in the game. Let's see ... well, Steely Dan's nowhere to be seen in the list. And any contributions from Fleetwood Mac are still unaccounted for. Also, where's Snow? We can't -- wait, Snow is in there? Well, then, pinch us, because we're clearly dreaming.

Continuing our goal to provide the most content-rich entertainment platform in the living room to the PlayStation community, I’m excited to announce that beginning today, the preview of Hulu Plus is available on the PlayStation 3 in the U.S., the first and only console with dedicated gaming functionality that will offer Hulu Plus this year.

If you don’t know, Hulu Plus is Hulu’s new subscription service offering full current season runs of hit TV programs from ABC, FOX and NBC, adding even more premium video content to the more than 23,000 movies and TV episodes already available on the PlayStation Store.

So how do you get Hulu Plus? Well, starting today, a select group of PlayStation Plus subscribers can gain access to a preview version of Hulu Plus. All PlayStation Plus subscribers may download the free Hulu Plus application from the PlayStation Store and, within it, request an invitation to the exclusive preview. If you are accepted, you can access Hulu Plus for an additional $9.99 per month (the fee that Hulu is charging for all Hulu Plus subscribers) and start enjoying its library of television shows and movies from nearly 150 leading content companies streamed on demand in HD.

As Hulu Plus becomes generally available in the coming months, all PlayStation 3 users in the United States will be able to download and subscribe to the full Hulu Plus service and it will also be available on wide range of Sony Electronics Internet-connected entertainment devices, including select BRAVIA TVs and Blu-ray Disc players.
