While it pains us to report that our hopes for a Predator-infused Ghost Recon game have gone down the drain, it's not all bad: the ESRB has tossed up a classification for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator. It's apparently "an action game/third-person shooter" for the PSP, in which "players engage in combat missions as part of an elite military unit." The listing also mentions a variety of modern weapons and promises "realistic" gunfights.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about this story is the disparity between the two listings -- the initial OFLC classification pegged the game for multiple platforms (as is the case with next year's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier), while the ESRB listing places the game solely on PSP. We've contacted Ubisoft for clarification and will be sure to relay whatever we hear back.

A portion of a NWR review…
SteamWorld is by no means a bad game. Not only is it one of the better tower defense games on the service but it is also Image & Form’s first release on the platform. Needless to say, they are off to a great start. Their debut effort is a pretty [...]
Nintendo's perfect no-Virtual Console streak continues with no retro re-releases announced for July. As usual, there are plenty of choices on WiiWare and DSiWare, including Gamelion's Furry Legends, which is an interesting-looking side-scroller ... despite the name.
DSiWare this week is mostly populated by insane minigames, time-management games, and sudoku -- the unique mix of not-that-interesting stuff that seems to characterize the service every week. Most interesting? A game designed to make you better at Scrabble.

Black and Bodycount developer Stuart Black has announced intentions to vacate his current position at Codemasters this October, Eurogamer reports. "He's got all his design work to do but he's going to finish before he leaves the team to complete the game, which takes him through to October," Codemasters says. Apparently an "80-strong team" will remain working on Bodycount after Black's departure, seeing through the game to its planned "early 2011" release window.
Though Eurogamer claims Black's choice to leave is predicated on "post-E3 fallout," Codemasters has denied as much to Develop, saying, "It isn't really the case that Stuart has left from 'E3 fallout,' there's nothing like that going on. E3 coverage was actually very good." We've followed up with Black for clarification of his reasons for leaving, but for now, Codemasters assures us that "progress continues" on Bodycount.
And here’s why eBay isn’t the best place for item sales all the time. The seller that was hoping to get $50,000 to pay bills was happy to see that the bid came in a few days later. Unfortunately, the seller ended up not paying, and now the bundle is relisted. I [...]
This March -- for the first time ever -- you may have a non-ironic interest in watching a SyFy original movie. That's because the live-action Red Faction movie, now called Red Faction: Origins, will be airing on the network during that month, coinciding with the release of Red Faction: Armageddon. So that's what that other domain registration was about!
The two-hour "pilot" movie (meaning it'll be a series if it does well) takes place between the Guerrilla and Armageddon games, focusing on Alec Mason's last surviving son Jake, who fights against a new human army dedicated to destroying the Red Faction. Somehow, Jake's sister has gotten involved with this group. We can assume because it's a SyFy movie that she's also been cursed to turn into a weresnake at night, or that she arrives on a train filled with spiders who have been snacking on nitroglycerin during the journey.
Along with the announcement of the movie, THQ sent out a new screenshot of Red Faction: Armageddon. Find it in the gallery below.
