We'd like to take a moment to console the people with limited reading comprehension who saw "Square Enix" and "Halo: Reach" in the headline and assumed, for the splittest of seconds, that the former was working on a Kingdom Hearts-esque mash-up in Bungie's franchise. The truth is much less titillating: Square Enix Products is manufacturing and distributing three action figures from the Halo Reach franchise this fall under its Play Arts -Kai- toy label.

The first three members of Noble Team to be included in Vol. 1 of the Reach toy line are Noble Six, Emile and Jun -- three names which likely don't carry much resonance with you, considering the game isn't out yet. Hopefully Squeenix's second set of figures, due out early next year, will be a tad more recognizable. Click past the jump to see the first three figures in a Halo Waypoint video from Square Enix's Comic-Con booth.

In announcing a September 15 launch for PlayStation Move in its territory, Sony Computer Entertainment Korea (intentionally?) slipped out the identity of two new PS3 titles, both with Move support. The first will be familiar to anyone who's browsed the iTunes App Store in, well, ever. It's a downloadable version of the popular "line drawing" casual strategy game Flight Control from Firemint, which has lifted off from iDevices and DSi to land on the PSN store ... at some point. (No date was listed.)

Also new and included in the "supports Move" category, Ignition is a Blu-ray Disc based racer from Hungarian developer Nemesys. The game was actually unveiled this time last year, was supposed to arrive in fall 2009 and doesn't have a publisher to speak of -- but hey, who needs that when you have looks? Check out screens of the game below and see for yourself. (While we try and find out who's actually releasing it.)

Latest reports from Comic-Con are that the Rock Band 3 show floor demo is showing us the debut of La Roux as an included band, and you’ll be taking on the song you hear above. Sounds like a good diddy to me, one that would make good use of the keyboard!

Now for an offer you can't refuse: Mafia 2's demo will hit Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on August 10. Take a ride on the wise guy side and test drive the family business simulator before its August 24 launch.

Although we aren't exactly sure what's in the public demo, you can check our latest preview, or the one from E3, for an idea of what to expect. So far, we haven't been disappointed of what we've seen from the game -- and, no, nobody is holding a gun to our head to say that ... maybe.

[Thanks, Matthew]

In a somewhat unexpected announcement this afternoon, EA Los Angeles revealed the creation of a new studio, named "Danger Close," responsible for handling the upcoming reboot of Medal of Honor. If you've been paying close attention to the words of your generic soldier comrades in various war games over the past, say, 10 years, you've probably heard the term -- that's because "Danger Close" refers to "information in a call for fire to indicate that friendly forces are within 600 meters of the target" (according to About.com).

Given that EA LA was the former studio working on Medal of Honor (alongside multiplayer developer DICE), this appears to be little more than a rebranding of EA's LA offices under the "Danger Close" nomenclature. That said, we've fired off a round of questions to EA and will let you know more about the studio as soon as we do.
