The magic kingdom goes social.

It's a great day for people who love old, weird platformers (and who doesn't?) with the European PSN release of Earthworm Jim HD and the PSOne version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. DS piracy tool and similar flash carts banned.

According to producer Yoshinori Ono, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition on the Nintendo 3DS won't offer radically different gameplay. In a Famitsu interview summarized by Andriasang, Ono assured fans that, among other things, the 3D visuals won't lead to 3D gameplay (turn to Tekken X Street Fighter for that.) "The gameplay will be the same as Super Street Fighter IV," he said.

There might be some additional control options, however. The article states that the team is considering mapping special attacks to the slide pad or touch screen. He also suggested that Capcom wants to use the system's wireless connectivity for both communication and gameplay, though he didn't specify whether he meant online or local wireless.

According to Famitsu, the game will have all 35 Super Street Fighter IV characters, and is currently 10 percent complete.

Ubisoft's 3DS puzzler takes noir to three dimensions.

R4 cartridges and other flashcarts, used in some cases (if not most) to pirate Nintendo DS games, are no longer allowed to be sold, advertised or imported into the UK. According to GI.biz, London's High Court ruled that the devices are illegal -- much to the chagrin of those who use it for actual homebrew purposes -- because it requires bypassing Nintendo's security to use.

Nintendo and friends have been working hard to wipe out the R4 devices around the world. Nintendo claims that over 100,000 R4 devices have been seized in the UK since 2009.

It was generated by the Aggregame service, which offers a real-time feed of game-related messages from Twitter, and shows the 150 most used words, collected from more than 28 million individual tweets from July 2009 to July 2010. As you can see, most gamers overwhelmingly tweet and re-tweet about the three major consoles.

As for individual games, Modern Warfare 2 and Halo most frequently appeared among 140 characters or less, though World of Warcraft, Uncharted, The Sims and Mario seem to have enjoyed their share of shoutouts.
