Sony will release "fully localized" versions of Killzone 3 (in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese) and inFamous 2 (in Spanish) in Latin America next year. According to the company, the localization will include "actors, action, dialog, effects and every inch of gameplay." We have no idea how "action" and "effects" are different in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, but it sounds fascinating. Speaking specifically about inFamous 2, Sony states localization for the region will create new elements that will "allow gamers to discover this open world in a relevant and unique way."

Also set for Latin American release: a pair of "Gamer Kit" bundles for PS2 and PSP this August. The PS2 bundle includes a system, two DualShocks, an 8MB memory card and "three top games." The PSP one features the handheld, a travel case and "three popular games." The announcements come a year and a half after Sony expanded into the other half of the Americas with PlayStation products, which, according to it, are now available in 18 countries on the same day as the US and Canada.

13-year LucasArts vet Haden Blackman, the writer and producer on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -- who also worked on the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 and Star Wars: Galaxies -- has resigned today, IGN reports. "I've had a fantastic time working with the team at Lucasfilm and am really grateful for their ongoing support," Blackman said. "While the decision to leave LucasArts did not happen overnight or come easily, I really feel that now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career."

"Oh, sure, Joystiq," you might say, "go with a Star Wars joke as the headline. Real original." Well, look, we spent all freakin' day down at Toshii Station because Luke had to have this one power converter -- no, this one wasn't good enough, it's gotta be that one -- so excuse us if we're a bit off our game ... uh, this is kinda getting weird.

If you wanna join us in pouring one out for our fallen comrade, we'll be down at the local hive of scum and villainy.

Look, America isn't blessed with the near-universal dependence on public transportation and cultural adoption of Square Enix's portable games that makes using Dragon Quest IX's "Tag mode" and other networking features worthwhile. Rather than let our nation's DQIX-playing community steam in a broth of its own jealousy, Nintendo will attempt to rally players together in the one centralized location with which they're all likely familiar: their local Gamestop.

This coming Saturday, July 31, select Gamestops will be hosting an all-day event where potential Quest-ers can check out a demo for the game, meet up with other players to wirelessly exchange bonuses, and download the "Zoma" treasure map, which has yet to come stateside. Similar events will be held at Best Buys across the country August 7, as well as select shopping malls every weekend until September 19. That sure beats turning on Tag Mode, then aimlessly walking the streets like some kind of sad Dragon Quest IX panhandler.

When rumors were flying about a GoldenEye remake just before E3, both a Wii and DS version were supposedly in the re-works. But when Nintendo and Activision made it official during the expo, only the Daniel Craig-ified Wii game was announced (despite the DS logo also appearing on the official game page). Today, the DS version of GoldenEye 007 showed up again, this time in Nintendo's upcoming releases calendar, which joined the company's quarterly earnings report.

Following the appearance, we confirmed with Activision that a DS iteration of GoldenEye 007 is in fact in development and will be released alongside the Wii game later this year. The handheld version will be developed by perpetual mobile game port house n-Space; though an Activision representative emphasized to us, "it's not a port." Additionally, both Daniel Craig (Bond) and Judi Dench ("M") will voice their characters in the DS game. We were tempted to ask about John Cleese, but then we remembered he's busy doing other, likely wonderful voice work at the moment.

The Gears of War 3 Avatar shirts that will determine the fate of the last living Carmine brother are now available on the Xbox Marketplace for 80 MS points ($1), with proceeds being donated to Child's Play. We know that Gears Executive Producer Rod Fergusson wants another Carmine stuffed over some locust mantel, but we hope you'll think of Mama Carmine when making your purchase.

Those who couldn't care less about the fate of another bullet-magnet Carmine meat shield, but still want to donate to Child's Play, can do it directly on the charity's site. Also, in retrospect, we wish Epic had done something like this for Dom's interpretation of "till death do you part" in Gears 2. Links to queue up the Carmine shirt DLC can be found after the breaks.

The PlayStation Move is set to launch in the US on September 19 alongside several bundles. The Starter Pack -- a $99 bundle including one PlayStation Move controller, a PlayStation Eye camera and a copy of Sports Champions -- is apparently going to be a bit different when it launches in the UK on September 15. MCV reports that the UK Starter Pack won't include a full copy of Sports Champions, instead giving gamers a taste of nine different titles.

The nine demos included in the package include snippets of six retail Move titles: Sports Champions, Start the Party, The Shoot, EyePet: Move Edition, TV Superstars and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. The remaining three demos will be for PSN games: Echochrome 2, Tumble and Beat Sketchers. In the UK, the Starter Pack will have a suggested retail value of £49.99.
