Rockstar's latest update to the 360 and PS3 versions of Red Dead Redemption goes about reducing grief in all its forms. This includes the kind of grief that arises due to pesky bugs, like the one that removes downloaded costumes from the player's inventory, or the one that screws up the geometry of sliding doors. It also limits the griefability of multiplayer cowpokes, automatically placing bounties on the head of anyone who racks up a six-kill streak. Click past the jump to see all the changes included in the update.
Oh, it also remedies a fairly humorous problem: "Occasionally, the player would not recover from being drunk." Oh, man, Red Dead Redemption. We're pretty sure we've all been there.
Perhaps you felt a tingling in the back of your skull today. A small, gnawing feeling. Don't be scared though, it's not a zombie nib on your brainpan, it's just your brain reminding you that the first webisodes of Zombrex Dead Rising Sun are now available on Xbox Live. Directed by none other than Dead Rising 2 producer Keiji Inafune, the movie is, shall we say, a little campy so far. Be sure to stock up on popcorn and Jujubes: more webisodes will be released every week this month.

Oh, so you think you're heading off into space for some distant world in September? Nope, you've got more pressing matters here at home. A public demo for Civilization 5 has been confirmed for September, "before the full game is released."
The missive can be found over on the game's official site, which promises more details on the exact nature of the demo and when rowdy road-builders can get their cultivation on, "coming soon." We'll be sure to update you all when we hear something, but in the meanwhile, you can get back to filling the coffers for that special edition you've had your eye on.
Apple's forthcoming Game Center service is alive and well in the latest iOS beta, 4.1 beta 3, and as those beta releases get more frequent, we get closer to the release of this "social gaming network" for iPhones and iPod Touches.
Unfortunately, with beta 3, we now have to further specify precisely which iPhones and iPod Touches will be supported by Game Center. Originally, Game Center was expected to run on the same iPhone / iPod Touch hardware that iOS 4 would run on, which only excluded the original iPhone and original iPod Touch. Now, perhaps in response to user complaints about the how poorly the iPhone 3G and 2nd-gen iPod Touch run on the new OS, those two (far more popular!) devices have also been stripped of Game Center compatibility in the latest beta.
Since this is getting confusing, we'll recap. You can use Game Center when it launches later this year only on one of these products: iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, 3rd-gen iPod Touch ... and that's it.

Actually, even if you've already played the PC version, you should watch this trailer. It looks like a lot of work went into it.
Time to add another N64 game to the Virtual Console lineup, Capcom! I don’t know how big of a game Mega Man Legends is when it comes to file size, but I’m sure we could cram it onto the Virtual Console service no problem. It’s about time to let this classic get another [...]
