Do you know what happened with Nintendo during this week back in 1991? That’s what happened, baby! The Super Nintendo hit the streets, and wowed everyone with the sheer power it had over the NES. From graphics to sound, the SNES blew away anything that Nintendo has previously put out. What a fantastic [...]

We're sure Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be jam-packed with surprises. "Boo! I just jumped out of some hay and killed you," "Sproing! I was on that rooftop and jumped down and killed you," and so on. But we're not at all surprised that the game is receiving the collector's edition treatment. Heck, perhaps one day the "standard editions" of games will become so rare, everything will go topsy turvy and they'll be the collector's editions!

But we digress.

So, here it is, the AC: Brotherhood collector's edition. Complete with a ... jack-in-the-box? Yep, no matter if you buy the $100 set at GameStop or some other games purveyor, the package will include a freaking creepy charming Assassin's Creed-ized take on the classic childrens' toy (GameStop has a harlequin, for extra creepiness, while everyone else has a plague mask-donning doctor). Also in the box (along with the just-talked-about box): two exclusive single-player maps (Aqueduct and Trajan Market), an art book, a "hard copy strategy map" of Rome (read: it's paper!), the game's soundtrack and a disc containing trailers, a making-of video and a preview of the AC: Brotherhood comic.

The set will arrive day-and-date with the standard edition on November 16.

If you've been waiting for someone - anyone! - to challenge Bungie's heretofore uncontested dominance in online multiplayer features, you'll want to watch this video for Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops. Sure, Modern Warfare 2 wins if you're looking at the numbers, but anyone familiar with Halo 3's excellent Forge and Theater modes knows they should expect more from the top franchise in multiplayer gaming.

This "multiplayer teaser" doesn't reveal much, but here's what we spotted: remote-detonated RC cars; a "ballistic" knife; and, most notably, a video recording and editing feature. Pore over the roughly 90 second video and let us know what you spot. Except a "full multiplayer reveal" on September 1st.

I used to be blown away by Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. I remember played it on Christmas morning and freaking out about how amazing it was. I’m sure it hasn’t stood the test of time, but I’d love to see a remake!

Ubisoft Toronto Managing Director Jade Raymond hopes to eventually have five triple-A projects going on at the studio. Speaking with Develop, she reiterated that the site is currently working on two projects, one of them the next Splinter Cell, and that the Toronto studio will eventually have five "major" projects in about ten years, when it beefs its staff roster up to 800.

Even with such a massive staff, it sounds unlikely all the development for any one game will take place in Toronto. Raymond expressed that triple-A development currently requires several Ubisoft studios working together, explaining that "once [a] team reaches over 200 people - even if they're in the same studio - you need complex management methods to make sure everything is held together; the feature development, the communication, and everything else." A year since its creation (thanks to hundreds of millions in tax breaks), Ubisoft Toronto is shaping up to be a beast -- whether local newspaper columnists like it or not.

Sure, Bonsai Barber is centered on a real job, but I don’t think there’s any barber that sees giant fruit and vegetables come in for a trim. That would be pretty funny…and scary at the same time!

It's dangerously simple to refer to a new product as an amalgam of other known quantities, but in the case of Monday Night Combat, it's the most effective sell. Here's the pitch: Imagine the class-based, team-oriented play of Team Fortress and then mix it with the escalating play of tower defense. Toss in a bright, campy sports entertainment aesthetic and you've got Monday Night Combat. And it's a blast.
