System 3 Software has held back the launch of its eagerly awaited new pinball game, preferring instead to invest the extra time in polishing up the finished product from what was a good arcade simulation into the definitive video game representation of the pinball genre. The Williams name sits firmly at the forefront of pinball folklore. [...]

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the next entry in the Zelda series to bring about the argument of Link being left or right handed. The only different this time is that the controls are much more physical, and the player’s left or right-handed nature is going to have a lot to do [...]

Are you wearing your hooded cloak and and trying your best to look inconspicuous? Good, then you're ready to watch the first developer diary for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. (That, or you just really want to be ready for your office's next Halloween costume contest.)

In the video you'll find after the break, the game's key staffers provide a brief story primer and tease a pretty epic-sounding tale that begins immediately where Assassin's Creed 2 ended. They also discuss Brotherhood's recruitment system, which totally sounds like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's. Oh, and there are some live-action bits that look nowhere near as good as this. (And we bet your costume looks way better than theirs!)

Joystiq tipster Phil received a promotional PlayStation Move kit, which included two Move controllers, a PlayStation Eye camera and a demo disc. The disc features an interface inspired by the "Now Playing" section of the XMB, allowing you to quickly peruse its contents. Included on the disc are demos for Sports Champions, Start the Party, Kung Fu Rider, TV Superstars, The Shoot, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, Beat Sketcher, and Tumble -- all games demoed at E3 earlier this year.

Interestingly, it appears that the demos cannot be launched directly from the disc; you must install each demo to your PS3 hard drive. According to our tipster, each demo is about 1-2 GB in size, meaning you'll need at least 8GB of free space if you want to play everything off the disc at once.

In addition to the demos, the disc includes an installable "Setup Guide," which may be the most enjoyable part of the entire collection. It includes some helpful tips, like "don't use the camera upside-down" and "don't smack people around you." Truly, advice for winners.

Steam is growing regular ol' Plants vs. Zombies into the "Game of the Year edition." The free update is available for existing PC copies of PvZ. In addition, PvZ is now available in its GOTY incarnation on Mac for $10. Remember, with Steam, if you own the game for Windows and are a closet Mac user (or vice versa), you also own it for the other system.

The update adds 20 Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud support and the "Zombatar" -- a custom zombie creator. You can also try out the Zombatar on PopCap's site and use the image for any of your social networking sites. In only a few minutes we made what we imagine to be a rabid transvestite b-boy.

Hey everyone! I’m Jamie, co-founder of Klei and writer of “The Challenges Behind Shank’s Co-Op Campaign” post, and of course the official Shank blog.

Recently, I decided to have a little fun with the game and record some of the combos we came up with using the standard-issued weapons. Below is the result: a vignette of Shank wailing on a poor dude. Keeping your enemies tied up in combos, grappling enemies to deal additional damage, and using moves such as the pounce-shotgun tactic to keep enemies at bay, becomes increasingly important in Shank as enemies become progressively smarter — especially in Hard Mode.

If you look really hard, you’ll notice a couple moments briefly pixelated (pixel-censorship gives me the chuckles) due to this being a public video and the ratings boards saying “tsk tsk.” Don’t worry the actual game is in all its uncensored glory.

Also: lots of people have been asking us about the score of Shank — we’ve released the first track on our facebook page, and we asked people to help hit our goal of 1500 fans before releasing the whole soundtrack to our fans. We did that in three hours. (Thanks!) and the soundtrack is now being remastered for everyone to enjoy.

Come check out our page! I’m usually lurking around there a few times a day to answer questions. Our page is at www.facebook.com/shankgame, and note that you have to sign in to Facebook to see the page, because it’s age-gated.

Remember those images which leaked out of Activision's survey about the spiritual successor to Goldeneye? Remember that totally bitchin' gold Wii Classic Controller Pro depicted in one of said images? It's very real, and can be very yours if you elect to pick up the GoldenEye 007 Classic Edition for $69.99 when the game launches later this year.

This news will be especially exciting to you if you're planning on playing the game using the Classic control scheme, which eschews the Wiimote and Nunchuck for a more traditional input experience -- one which we imagine will be much more "retro"-feeling, and much less less likely to result in you hurling a Wiimote through your TV while attempting to chuck a Throwing Knife at a bothersome foe.
